If University of South Florida is available, the AD should definitely try and schedule a game with them. Mason has played against them twice already and both resulted in a loss by only a few points. Both teams play very similar to one another.

Sorry GMURaider but I am going to have to agree with GMUgemini, getting pounded by a top 10 team isn't going to help a whole lot. If USF is open, Mason should schedule a game day with them.

Concur. At this point (ocho anos despues del quatro final- ay, Dios mio!) rebuilding a successful brand will require many gritty wins over less-than-world-renowned-"basketball schools". The chances of landing and winning an out-of-conference game against a headline-grabbing team are slimmer each year. Our guys need to win conference titles or earn at-large bids to the national championships to get the team name back on the front of the sports page.

I think we should try to be strategic and maybe aim for a winnable game against a ranked team in the bottom part of the top 25 poll.

Maybe, it won't be on ESPN or CBS but I think some network be it NBC or CBS or whoever might be intrigued by a matchup of George Mason taking on UNLV or a Gonzaga or a Memphis or a Wichita State.

Maybe, they don't have Duke's CLOUT but I think the average college hoops junkie knows Wichita State went undefeated. Gonzaga speaks for itself. Memphis and UNLV have strong histories too.

All of these teams are CONSISTENTLY in the hunt for postseason play which is hopefully the level we will get to soon.

USF's coach got fired after last season, so they might not be the same type of team next year, or have the same scheduling interests.

The Puerto Rico Tipoff alone is a pretty sick lineup of teams -- New Mexico, UConn, Texas A&M, Boston College, West Virginia, Dayton, Charleston, plus GMU. We will get three good games there.
