We are young alumni trying to reignite the current fan base while also attracting young fans. We have a podcast, tumblr, twitter (Podcast and Tumblr - still very amateur) and we are hosting pregame happy hours in order to bring together the Mason community and provide people an avenue to talk face to face. We understand people have been going to bars for pregame already but in our experiences in the past 11 years the happy hours have been stale and lacking of flair that By George aims to bring. Like I said, this is all very new but we would love for any and all of you to come to our happy hour and talk hoops. As we grow, so too will the deals as we will already be giving away some free beer but looking to have a free snack bar, raffles, pregame mason trivia, clothing etc.

Many of you have seen us around as we have traveled for the team many times down to vcu and attended the pregame parties everyone goes to. Made evident by all the events Paulsen is partaking in leading up to the season... the fan base needs some life and we hope to be apart of the rise.

Awesome, hope to see a lot of you guys there.

Some things I took away from the meet and greet tonight at the Rat. Otis is ready to compete at this level. He seems very confident and will be a fan favorite immediately. I talked to him about watching film and he said he studies opposing PGs shot selection- if they fall forward or shoot fade away's. He said he likes to find their go to move so he can counter it and beat them to the spot their trying to get to. I coach high school basketball and these are all things I teach me players to look for but only the smart players get it.

I was unaware that Dixon, Murrell and Grayer all went to the same prep school. Murrell told me there was some inside recruiting going on after he chose Mason. He praised Dixon, a player that will get more playing time than I originally anticipated. Both Murrell and Dixon played an extra year at prep and both seemed confident to contribute right away.

For those who don't know how to pronounce Jaire, he would like to be called "Jai" or "Boogie." He said he saw an opportunity to contribute as a frosh and you know what? He's right.

I walked out with Marko and Shevon. I know their height, but damn standing next to them was intimidating. This should be a very solid front court. Sounds to me like a couple of NBA teams have inquired about Shevon. Marko wants to continue his basketball career after college as well.

Since I know so many of you had a blast at the last one, we will be hosting another pregame happy hour today from 4-6:30. Ask a couple of the guys who came to our first one.... free beer was given out! If you can guess my favorite Mason player of all time, either in this thread or in person, your first beer is on me!
