GIVING DAY 2023
I find myself coming here less and less lately. Too much scrolling through troll post from GSII, gmu05, DJ3 , Carolina just to find actual Mason basketball conversation. I wish the guys who created this site actually cared and had moderators.

"LARRAÑAGA APPROACHING 600 CAREER VICTORIES

Coach Jim Larrañaga is just one win shy of 600 career victories, posting a 599-393 mark in 33 seasons as a head coach. With 600 wins, he will be one of five ACC coaches with 600 victories, and the other four men are in the Basketball Hall of Fame. Coach L has won 27 games at American International, 170 at Bowling Green, 273 at George Mason and 129 at Miami."

Pretty impressive that he has 129 wins at Miami already. You'd figure his win rate would have gone down against "better" coaching/competition.

It has in conference to some degree...but Miami gets to schedule more home games with cupcakes earlier in the season. Like this season, they went 10-2 in OOC with home games against Western Carolina (3-10), North Florida (1-12), Wofford (3-9), South Carolina State (1-10), Florida Atlantic (2-9), and Columbia (4-7).

Of course, we can't say much on that front this year.

Basically, though, Coach L is a good coach and would have succeeded anywhere. Good for him.

Continue to be a Coach L fan. Whether it is my singular belief or reality I took a lot of comfort in the collaboration of the FF event between the Coach L crew and the Paulsen crew (in contrast to Hewitt). Felt like the baton was finally passed.

Really surprised that he's only playing BS Semi-Pro ball. You would think he would catch on some where over seas. Maybe he does play over seas and this is just for fun?

"Hancock was part of Louisville's NCAA Champion team in 2013, when he was named the most outstanding player of the NCAA Final Four. After graduating, the Roanoke, Va., native played in the summer NBA league with the Orlando Magic and Houston Rockets. He then trained with the Memphis Grizzlies for three months. When his contract was waived, he went overseas to play for Greek Basket League club Panionios BC in Athens, Greece.

But after six games, he tore a muscle in his calf.

'Immediately, it kind of hit me that I needed to be ready for whatever was next,' Hancock said, and he began studying to become a financial planner. He tried one last time to play again, but then he tore his Achilles tendon."
