"Tyler Kolek

A pass-first maestro at Marquette, Tyler Kolek led the Big East in assists for three straight years and topped the NCAA in his final season. His court vision and playmaking ability caught the Knicks’ attention, leading them to acquire him on draft night.

However, with Jalen Brunson and Deuce McBride holding down the backcourt, Kolek has mostly been limited to garbage-time minutes. That hasn’t stopped him from thriving in the G League, where he’s been on fire, averaging 20.4 points and 9.1 assists through seven games with the Westchester Knicks.

His relentless work ethic has earned Tom Thibodeau’s trust, even leading to a rare double-header — playing a G League game in the afternoon before suiting up for the Knicks that night at Madison Square Garden. With his stock rising, it’s only a matter of time before he earns a consistent spot in the nine-man rotation."

If only we had had a coach to take advantage of the players he brought in...

Please move if it’s the wrong thread, but assuming these three plan to transfer at the end of the season due to lack of playing time at their current schools, who would you welcome back, if any?

-Fernandez, 4 ppg, 11 mins/g at Providence as a SO
-Barron, 5.5 ppg, 19.8 mins/g at Providence as a SO
-Okojie, 1.1. ppg, 9.8 mins/g at Memphis as a SO

Barron was never really here but might be the best of the three.

I’d take Okojie back but would be a little scared of him for all intents and purposes sitting out all year, but he’s basically KD Johnson with more natural point guard vision. His ability to get to the line is something we could use next year.

My guess is Fernandez would wind up more at vcu than back here, but he looks like he could fit into Skinn’s scheme, at least his ability to sit at the top of a 1-3-1 and read a pass and get a runout started.

I’d take Okojie and Fernandez back. I’m not sure if Fernandez would come back to Mason especially since he’s a “Kim guy”, but considering Okojie was a “Tony guy” I’d say that’s more likely.

Neither are very likely, I’d just put Okojie ahead. All three of these kids profile as that classic “step down a notch for bigger role” that the a10 has been able to provide to many players.

"Dinkins was awarded MAAC Sixth Player of the Year, and took his place on the All-MAAC Third Team."

  • "Devin Dinkins averaged 13.5 points-per-game (11th in MAAC) which was second on Manhattan behind Sydnor.
  • Dinkins ranked first in the MAAC in free throw percentage (87.7%) and third in three-point percentage (44%).
  • Dinkins is 42nd nationally in free throw percentage
  • Dinkins led the Jaspers with 59 three-pointers this season, and had 20 games with at least two three-pointers to his name.
  • Dinkins had the highest offensive rating (122.6) of any MAAC player who was used in at least 20% of their team's possessions, per KenPom's metric.
  • Dinkins is the first Jasper to win MAAC Sixth Player of the Year.
  • Sydnor and Dinkins will lead the Jaspers into Thursday's Quarterfinals match-up with Iona. Tip-off is slated for 6 P.M. at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City and the action is available to stream on ESPN+. "

"Gallagher on Dinkins: 'Devin was one of the more consistent players that I've seen this season. His ability to score and his knack to get to the foul line are what separate him. His energy and toughness are something we really needed and I couldn't be happier to see everything he's put into the game.'"

"Otis Frazier III (All-CUSA Second Team, All-Defensive Team)"

"Frazier III (2.32 steals per game-first CUSA/15th NCAA) and Camper Jr. (2.07 spg-second CUSA/34th NCAA) become just second Miner duo to earn all-defensive team honors in the same season."

"The fourth All-CUSA honoree under head coach Joe Golding, Frazier III stuffed the stat sheet across the board while setting the tone for the Miners in 2024-25. He is the only player in CUSA to rate in the top 15 of the league for scoring (13.4 ppg-12th), assists (2.4 apg-15th), rebounding (5.5 rpg-15th), steals (2.32 spg-first CUSA/15th NCAA), blocks (0.7-tied 13th) and free-throw percentage (73.6-13th).

The senior tops the Miners in scoring and steals, essentially shares the lead in blocks while rating second for assists and rebounding. He also paces the team in free throws made (103) and attempted (140), double-digit scoring efforts (24) and double-doubles (four). He recorded at least one steal in 29 of 31 contests this season, including 19 with two or more thefts. Six times he produced at least four takeaways, including tying his own school record (eight) vs. Kennesaw State on Jan. 25."
