If only Vaughn Gray had remaining eligibility. Greatest player in Mason, possibly college basketball, history never to play meaningful minutes per “Mason” fan. He could turn the season around.
I’m genuinely curious on this line of thinking now. Let’s say he’s gonna play — where do his minutes come from? Miller, Javon, and AJ are all in slots he could feasibly play (4 is a giant stretch but whatever I’ll give it to you). So who’s minutes would he be taking? He has a nice stroke. He will either save the season or get ruined by the Dew Boy.

Whoever’s minutes he is taking you are signaling to them it’s time to transfer, because if we’ve got guys who are considered replaceable to what equates to literally some dude off the street at this point in the season then it’s all broken.
Is this kid crazy coming to this dumpster fire?If a freshman who no one else recruited, reclassing and coming in a year early, comes in on the back end of conference season, and he sees meaningful minutes on a top heavy roster, we have bigger problems then we all think.

Maybe he wants to get in on the action as a D1 basketball player while he can. He can see the writing on the wall. Paulsen will be fired shortly. No guarantee the new coach will retain his scholarship.I’ll just assume he has, exactly, zero other options.

I mean don’t get me wrong, there’s no downside to it whatsoever, I’m just saying that if we are halfway through conference play and some dude walks off the street and starts getting minutes without knowing anything about our offense/defense then there’s problems and some dudes on our roster should start asking themselves some hard questions about if they should be playing at this level. Then again we don’t have much of an offense or defense to learn so maybe he’ll slide right in.
