Dave starts to feel the heat for his job and needs some sort of good news to take some pressure off. He asks Kier (who he loves and repeatedly sings his praises) to put his name in the transfer portal, but come back to Mason. He know Kier would get lots of attention from P5’s. Then Dave uses it as ammo next year when we go .500 again - I was able to out recruit all these P5’s for Kier, so get off my back. I’m a great recruiter.

My guess is the staff knew Kier was gone when they announced Boyd was coming back.

As much as we’d like to have both, there’s probably not enough playing time to go around with all of our other guards.

Also, it's odd that the SID haven't announced the departures of JDS and Mar yet....and if you look at the Augusta Free Press article from a week ago, Paulsen calls Mar a member of Mason Nation still despite leaving. Mar isn't a member of Mason Nation. He left.

There's plenty of playing time. "all of our other guards" don't get PT because they are necessarily talented...Kier is better than every guard on the roster at the moment and that's with a bum wheel.

What I’m saying is it should’ve been a signal about Kier’s intentions when we got the announcement on Boyd coming back. No way Boyd was gonna spend his last year sitting behind both Kier and Javon at his position.

Georgia and Auburn are now in the mix for Kier. Pretty crazy to think Mason was by far his best offer 4 years ago and even his hometown school wasn’t interested.

Louisville just signed a guy (Mindlend) whose numbers are pretty much identical to Kier today so have to imagine they are out of the running.
