NCAA just turned down waiver requests for football players at Florida State and UNC.
One of them moved back home to be closer to his mom who has a medical condition. NCAA catching some sh*t for that one.

PAy wallNot sure if posted before, but this talks about second time transfers and mentions Newton.
Transfer again and play right away? NCAA says no, but coaches are wary of enforcement
If the NCAA doesn’t take a firm stance on transfer rules, "they may as well just close the doors in Indy."theathletic.com
If the death of a parent isn’t justification for a waiver, nothing is.Not sure if posted before, but this talks about second time transfers and mentions Newton.

Yeah, I expect Newton to get his waiver. I know significantly less about Haynes' situation, but it's generally safe to assume the NCAA will do the wrong thing until proven otherwise. If the death of a parent isn’t justification for a waiver, nothing is.
Could certainly open up the court for Hall. We’re about to find out if Jalen really can play effectively at the 4 as Tony said … no way they are moving Amari to the bench as well as he is playing.

Hall and Haynes are interchangeable. They can have advanced post games or face up. The hi-low interior passing between with all 3 in the lineup is going to be beautiful. We’re about to find out if Jalen really can play effectively at the 4 as Tony said … no way they are moving Amari to the bench as well as he is playing.

Yeah, I'm wondering the same thing. Is this ruling, likely before a friendly West Virginia judge, necessarily a good thing for Haynes. Could he lose a full year of eligibility for playing some games this year instead of sitting out the whole year? And after the 14 days?
I could be wrong, but I think it’s been confirmed that a player won’t lose eligibility if they decide to play these next 14 days and the decision ends up favoring the NCAA.Yeah, I'm wondering the same thing. I'd be tempted not to play him until that situation is clarified.
Hopefully Haynes gets to play this Saturday. Will add some intrigue to my first visit in 6 years.
I hope you're right. I was thinking that the phrasing might be limited to team W-L records not being negatively affected by playing someone who was later ruled to be "ineligible''.I could be wrong, but I think it’s been confirmed that a player won’t lose eligibility if they decide to play these next 14 days and the decision ends up favoring the NCAA.
I think he has practiced with them, although he likely wasn't getting many reps with the first team. So there would be some chemistry issues, I would think.Has Haynes been allowed to practice with the team? I wonder about chemistry.
