Nice size, good handle, good stroke. Looks like he has the potential to earn some quality PT this year.

Excited about this signing. Looks awfully smooth with the ball with good instincts. I can see him starting at the 2 for his final 3 years after being a sixth man this year.

Would love to see him sacrifice a lamb on Twitter and openly wonder whether the wood lumber liquidators is donating to vcu will infect the entire team with cancer.

Impressed with this signing, hopefully it's an indication of what Paulsen can do on the recruiting trail as he has more time at Mason under his belt. I expect this kid to definitely contribute this year.

As an Orioles fan, one of my favorite Buck Showalter phrases is that the franchise can "out opportunity" teams that have significantly more money to spend. Paulsen needs to keep sending that same message to recruits for the next few years until he has players begging to come here.

Reminds me of Erik Herring.

Maybe not as athletic as Herring, but I see where you're coming from.

He might not finish with authority like Herring, but the slashing and shooting is similar.

MAN! Right now is the first time I have gotten actively excited about the Dave Paulsen regime. Like, I have been on board from day one, but this is the kind of recruit I learned to love at Mason. Larranaga LIVED on guys like this. Versatile power guards. The kind of guys that under a bad coach end up as tweeners who don't contribute, and under good coaches end up as matchup nightmares. These kind of guys are a "developer" coaches building blocks.

Erik Herring
Luke Hancock
Folarin Campbell
Rob Anderson
Raoul Heinen
Mark Davis
Cam Long
Ike Tate

Grayer EXACTLY fits the profile of "jack of all trades" 2 guards that this program thrived on for years. Here's waiting for Grayer's junior year, and seeing what he develops into!

Talking about his style of play, he reminds me of Paul Pierce. An oversized 2 guard that can back you down and take it inside, has a smooth jumper (with a nice follow through hold) and is silky smooth with his handle and distribution. Now make my pipedream a reality!

....now, I am also the guy that once compared Okoloji to a Kevin Durant-type, so there...

I don't want to get too far ahead of myself here, but if this last minute pickup of Grayer pans out, it will also remind me of the beginning Larranaga's first year when (other than Evans who hadn't really blossomed yet) we had virtually no offensive threats. He went out and recruited Miskiri and Herring after the "normal" recruiting season was done and by the second semester they were eligible and the team went from being awful to competitive. I'm hoping Grayer's recruitment is a sign that good coaches operate out-of-the-box when the hand they're dealt looks problematic.

I'm dying to see these recruits in person. I wish they held an open practice like last year at the RAC.
Keep in mind, they were only allowed to have those summer practices last year because of the trip to Spain. They can't practice like that this year (yet).
