St Louis' five star #10 ranked recruit is class of 2018. he is REALLY good. good for the conference for St Louis to be seemingly back on track
That's the benefit of being the only program in your back yard. Pretty sure their 5 star is from down the street and didn't want to go too far from home.

Ya, unless the kids want to leave two-three hours for Mizzou, St. Louis is their only close to home option around them.

Looking at the roster is there a chance Mar gets red shirted to ensure he doesn't waste a season or two behind someone that we could've avoided?

He's going to play right away.

Keep in mind, even in a 4-guard lineup, we had no one really to play at the 4 position all season (it works a lot better when you've got a guy with some length and bulk like a 6'6 wing player lke Bradford Burgess playing the "power forward" position than someone like Justin Kier). With the graduation of Marquise, all the guards are going to shift over and Wilson and Mar are going to hold down the 4 spot, probably.

Next seasons depth chart probably looks something like this (with some pretty wild guesses at who is starting:

PG: Otis/Greene
SG: Kier/Newman/Boyd
SF: Grayer/Boyd/Mar
PF: Wilson/Mar
C: Relvao/Temara/Calixte

Note: I have no idea what the depth chart at the 5 is going to look like next year, so don't jump on me about that one.

I'm completely lost on the AJ Wilson hype. Looks like a Hewitt player , poor man's Trey Porter. How the hell is he playing over Mar?

Um because he redshirted last year and has a full season of college practices over Mar. Coaches were also saying good stuff about him on his performances in practice.

Again, nobody is "playing over" anybody yet. It's May 3.

But just speaking for myself, the excitement over AJ is that he is by far the most explosive athlete on our roster, he's working his a** off to improve his game and he's now being coached by a staff that knows how to develop players.

Does that mean he's definitely going to start as a RS freshman? No.

Like everybody else, AJ and Goanar will have to earn their spots in the rotation.

Bottom line: We're going to have a lot more competition for playing time than we did last season. The cream will rise. Some guys won't play much, or at all, and will end up transferring.

Ultimately we all should hope it results in more victories for the team because that's what it's all about.

I bet this is pretty close to how the season starts. But I have a feeling lineups will change depending on who we are playing.

Mason needed size when playing SLU, vcu, GW. So when playing them I would imagine a starting lineup of
1. OTIS
2. Grayer
3. Mar
4. Wilson
5. (who ever)
