I wish them well and I hope they leave with fond memories of their time in Fairfax.

Good luck to all of them. I'm actually kind of sad, they were a part Paulsen's first class. I consider them all the turning point of Mason basketball.

If less talented players make contributions and don't "pout" or "complain" then they shouldn't be given the bum's rush and accused of being slackers or that they suck. They were team players. They don't deserve that.

Now if you're a distraction or toxic like Byron Tucker, Craig Hodges, and Curtis McCants then one can talk about putting a player like that on the Sayonara Express.

Umm Abram did not. He had a great freshman year and for whatever reason Paulsen didn't like something about him. He probably didnt think he could guard the 4 or didn't like his drive or something . He's gonna do well in the CAA or Am East.

Abram is from Texas so I could see him at a Rice type school. Kam is from Cali so I could see him at a Santa Barbara type school. Dixon is from Michigan, I could see him at, um, another school.

They were all good in their own ways. I don't think they saw themselves getting much PT and made a decision that I really can't blame them for. I think Abram was talented. Something about him and Paulsen didn't mesh well though. He had a huge game his freshman year against vcu and was one of the reasons we won that game.

Good luck to all of them. I think it's the best decision for both parties in all three cases.

It was a rushed recruiting class and obviously there were gonna be some misses. I'm just happy that half the class turned out to be quite talented and the other half were obviously not A10 caliber. If all of them had been just ok enough to get by then the program would be in rough shape. We lucked out with Otis and Grayer.

No team can have 13 starting players. They were vital to our practice scout team. I believe each of them, if they stayed, could get good minutes their late junior or senior years. Them leaving hurts our practices/team and hopefully we can replace their contributions. Of course every player wants big minutes so good luck to them on finding the right situation that fits.

Abram: Was pretty good for us his first year and did some things to help us win games. He just got buried under better guys, it happens.

Murrell: For all the hype behind him and listing him as a dangerous 3 point shooter he under performed big time. His shot never really fell and was very inconsistent in scoring. Being touted a shooter coming out of high school you better be able to shot the rock. And this is where he fell short and better shooters got him minutes.

Dixon: Just not an A-10 Caliber talent. Good kid and tried to work hard to improve but he just doesn't have the skills to compete and contribute.

People.... please remember these are kids, 18-21, and are trying to find themselves in life, while balancing decisions concerning their education, family, and basketball careers. They deserve appreciation for coming in to Mason and giving it a go and trying to win games for our school while bettering themselves in life.

Yet another thread I have no idea what's going on in because you all are arguing with people who should already be on your ignore list. Come on people - get to ignoring these fools!

Thank you to Kam, DeAndre and Danny for helping us work out the Hewitt.

Like MasonSEA4 said, this class was put together in a scramble to field a full team. This is the natural maturation of a program. Completely healthy for both sides; the players will get more playing time and the program will become more balanced.

I will say that I was fully expecting two to transfer, not all three. I'm interested in seeing how the staff spreads the newly open scholarships out over this year and next.

Here's looking forward to some exciting recruiting news!

Get a senior transfer player, if for no other reason we can have a senior night next year!
