Give me a team with the equivalent effort/40 of John Vaughan, Dre Smith, Cam Long, Ryan Pearson, and Mike Morrison, with Ike Tate off the bench, and I'd never complain about a lack of hustle again.

Sherrod sometimes gets blocked by the rim -- but that's usually because he jumped from half a mile away when none of his teammates were open.

Great looking recruits. But we've seen this before from him at GT. Hopefully changes to his approach are being made.

But are these the same type of recruits? He seems to be recruiting a tougher, less finesse type player. To me he is recruiting guys who won't be intimidated by vcu.

He's recruiting guys who have the physical tools and mental makeup to compete in the A-10. We don't have as many of those guys as we thought we did 2 months ago.

Jim and Walter, it reminds me of the realization Bob Huggins came to when WVU was moving to the Big 12. He knew he needed a different type of player to run with the likes of Kansas, Texas and Baylor, so he essentially turned the entire roster over.

It took a few years of dealing with disgruntled fans, but he now has a much more athletic team that can get up and down the floor. They'll still have some growing pains due to being young, but they damn near upset #20 Gonzaga last night.

I just don't buy this A10 is so much better line of reasoning. It's more solid top to bottom, but those ODU, vcu, UNCW, Richmond squads were awfully darn good too.

Those George Evans, Jesse Young, Jai Lewis, Will Thomas, Cam Long teams were fully capable of winning in the A10.

Of course Bob Huggins made a switch...he knows what he's doing...LOL.

"A proven success as a program builder, recruiter and game strategist. His 690–251 record (.733) during his 28 seasons as a head coach (as of 2010) ranks him eighth in winning percentage and fourth in victories among active Division I coaches. He is one of only 4 active Division I coaches with 700 or more career victories. Huggins has been to 15 total NCAA tournaments, including 14 of the last 15 seasons. Huggins' teams have participated in the postseason 25 of 28 times, including two Final Fours: 1992 with Cincinnati, 2010 with West Virginia. Huggins has averaged 23.6 wins per season, including 25.6 his last 15 years."

Hugh, it's not about the past, it's about the present. And as you can see by the Coaches and AP polls, the CAA gets no respect compared to the A10. UMass is currently ranked, and vcu and Dayton were previously ranked and are still getting votes along with St. Louis and GW.

The A10 will definitely get 4 bids this year and possibly 5, while the CAA will get one. We were smart to get out when we did. Now we have to prove we belong.

KA, don't get your Hewitt ruffles feathered. I wasn't comparing him to Huggins but more so the situation of adapting to a new conference.
