I think he could red shirt if he doesn't play in more than 20 percent of the games. He's played in 7, and 20 percent of our 31 regular season games is 6.2 - so I think he's played one too many.

6 would be less than 20 percent, 7 is more than 20 percent.

Edit - Wiki says its 30 percent, in which case he would be good as he could play up to 9.

He is still under the games-played threshold for a medical redshirt, but who knows if anyone is interested in that?
I was wondering this last night when he didn’t play.
There were those rumors last spring of a possible transfer which didn’t make much sense at the time since he’d have to sit one to play one. If the foot injury keeps him out for an extended amount of time is a medical redshirt on the table. Then he most likely could be a grad transfer for his final season.

Would you be interested in that? I don't think anyone is going to be sorry when he's gone. Just sayin...

* Our sophomore 4-man is still suffering through the worst sophomore slump I’ve ever seen and appears to have lost all confidence in his game after averaging 11 ppg as a freshman.
I'm still not sure I would call him a 4. I'd prefer him at the 3.

Trolls will be trolls.

Taken seriously, if it meant a fully healthy Grayer next year to sit him the rest of this year to get better, I would take that in a second. A fully healthy Grayer was one of our best rebounders, a surprisingly good shot blocker, a good perimeter defender, a good post defender, and one of our most dynamic scorers (even if he wasn’t particularly aggressive in some games looking for his shot).

His play during sophomore year was a big reason why that was our best team in a long time. His injury last year was a big reason why we didn’t finish fourth.

Just to be clear, if you don't own knee pads for the "program" you are a troll?

No. But I think saying someone who averaged 12.3 points per game, 7.2 rebounds per game and 1.3 blocks per game (from the wing) last year will not be missed is I’ll just say stupid.

He’s also shooting over 40% from 3 this year and 35% for his career.

Has he struggled on defense this year? Yeah. But we now know it’s due to a lingering foot issue limiting his lateral quickness. The kid can defend when he’s healthy at a pretty high level. We’ve seen it.

I think it’s total games, as well, not just regular-season games. We’re guaranteed at least 32 games.

The denominator for the formula is the number of regular season games plus one (the minimum number of postseason games). And eligibility for a medical hardship waiver is based on 30%. Of course it has to be a season-ending injury, with medical documentation.

No, only if you're a douchebag who finds any tiny bit of negativity in any god damn thing relating to this program even when things go well.

I have a huge problem with DP. Huge. But if by some miracle he turns this shit show around, I will take my beating on the boards deservedly.

You on the other hand will slither back and start every post with "Yea but......".

Everyone who is Anti Paulsen is only that way for the love of the program, even Dj3. Not like you who seems to indulge in the failures of the program and downplay any successes.

Mason is guaranteed at least the PIG. So would that count?

Did it ever occur that I may be talking about off the floor?
