News Patriot Center to become EagleBank Arena

Aren't all the Eagles bald these days? I hear that is the trend.

At least the ones currently in use, or looking for work

This is sad for me. I worked at the Patriot Center since the beginning and held summer jobs there my senior year and summer after while hunting for a real job. I used to program the old message center on top of the old scoreboard and remember creating the waving flag in the wonderful low-res system using a CP/M computer. I remember helkp painting the logo on various walls and having my Patriot Center operations shirt (I may still have that somewhere.)

It will always be the Patriot Center to me.

Come on man...it's just letters...it is still PC. Cheer up!!

No signs have been put up on changed. At least not as of around noon on July 1st. Didn't see a single EagleBank reference.

I did receive something in email today referring to MMA (or something like that) coming to eagle Bank Arena...so the term is now in use.

Along the same lines, the Provost's Office sent out this email today:

"All faculty and staff are invited to participate in the New Student Convocation – August 28, 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. We will process into the Eagle Bank Arena (formerly the Patriot Center) as a group. Please plan to arrive no later than 9:15 a.m. – Hospitality Room, bottom floor of the Arena.

Wear your GREEN and Gold!"

Yeah getting naming rights was a big step forward. Although I do still refer to it as the Patriot Center. Interestingly, I'm considering using Eagle Bank for my freelance programming work I do on the side. Wouldn't have used them if they didn't name the stadium.
