How is this good news? Guy comes from a country that bankrupts itself continuously and sports 20% unemployment half the time.

Him getting anywhere near the federal reserve and American monetary policy is an unmitigated disaster. Thank goodness we have the BOV here to provide checks and balances over him at Mason.

True and I am happy for them. However, it was a "bowl" game and they are running into money troubles. as the program is becoming more expensive to maintain.

However, I want Mason to invest in its current sports - which it is starting to do (baseball and soccer getting some love) and therefore I am donating more money.

Hey don't get me wrong - I am all about football at Mason - but the landscape is getting more challenging and it is possible that the financial drain the non Power 5 programs face could result in them going back to FBS.

For once, I agree with PiKap. Being in Fairfax, you have the Redskins, Wizards, Hoyas, Caps, Nats, Terps, Kennedy Center, National Mall, etc. all competing for our disposable income. If we were in Norfolk or Harrisonburg where there is no such competition then sure, go for it, but we're not in those areas. Football at Mason (past the club level) isn't happening in my children's lifetimes.

I don't particularly care for either. However, I would kill baseball before soccer. Too many P5 schools spending lots of money on baseball. We have a competitive advantage in soccer with our location / student population and the lack of men's soccer at P5 schools means we don't have to enter into an arms race to be competitive.
