Is TCU even good?

Well, at Kenpom #67, they're better than any other team that we've played so far, except for Maryland. All of their 3 losses have been their only games against Kenpom top 100 teams. Two 2 pt losses at neutral sites and today's 8 pt home to #27 Xavier.

There is some reason for hope...Mason is better ranked at #115 than anyone else that they played (UC-Irvine #118, whom they beat by 1 in a home game, is the next best). Currently Kenpom has us at 8 pt underdogs.

Watched TCU-Xavier yesterday. Xavier looked very good - TCU made it respectable by going on a late run, but the game was never in any doubt. I think Xavier was up 22 at one point in the 2nd half.

I will say that TCU's arena does not appear it will be a loud and intimidating place to play. Quiet crowd - probably due in large part to students on break.

if we beat TCU, we will certainly have an at-large case this year.

We will need to beat Richmond, vcu, Rhody, Dayton - 2 or 3 wins no matter how you chalk them up.

I would say if we can get to 3 or 4 quad 1 & 2 wins with no bad losses on our resume, we should get in

They have length. Watched the Xavier game and they have a pretty good Center in Samuel who is 6'11 and 250. That will give us fits and could get our bigs in foul trouble early. Desmond Bane is their main scoring threat at 15 a game. Should be an interesting match-up.

We will need to be on from 3-point land to take them down at home.

they have no depth so hopefully we can get a quick two fouls on Samuel off the bat... that sure would help the upset bid

My Maryland friend mentioned their is something there (arrogance/all about themselves, cheating/grade issues, or head cases) where Turgeon can no longer seem to get through to them or UMD is going to come down on them. Apparently they got kicked out of/transferred 3 times to 3 different high schools.

My Maryland friend mentioned their is something there (arrogance/all about themselves, cheating/grade issues, or head cases) where Turgeon can no longer seem to get through to them or UMD is going to come down on them. Don't know anything about that, but their playing time was already limited. I imagine they would find themselves out of the rotation with Chol Marial set to return to the lineup.
