NIL Thread

This is true, but some of our most in the know posters seem pretty sure that something is (or at least was) going on.
They know lots more than I do, and I tend to trust their judgment.
Could they be wrong? Sure. But I'm thinking something is/was fishy.
No doubt it smells bad, and I have no doubt he’s not returning next year, but has anyone here talked to Hall directly? My advice: let the situation play out. Take it or leave it ‍*shrugs*

I will stay under the impression that all of this is just PR and smoke until I see him set foot on a court in a Mason uniform. Happy for him to prove me wrong about this.

Donations are always the easiest way to help out. Also, please spread the word/encourage others to give. At some point, volunteers may be a benefit.

The website is:

I think the number contributors to date is on the order of 50-100 people, or so, but that is old information. I'll try to get a more up-to-date number.

Money managed in a financially conservative/no capital loss and liquid manner so that it is available payout when needed. Currently, no need for more complicated, longer term investments, but, we are very young...
For comparison, UMass is at 382 members.

What kind of money are we talking about here guys? I know folks say any amount helps. But realistically, would 25, 50, 100 help? Or are they looking for bigger bucks? I'm clueless.
But you guys already knew that! :ROFLMAO:

Whatever makes sense for the individual. Many collectives (UMass for example) offer reoccurring monthly member levels of $10, $25, $50+, while ours doesn’t yet (Brian knows my feelings on this) there are single donation options of $25, $50 & $100, in addition to the $400 & $2500 levels.

Everything helps. @Patriot8 mentiined the levels. Hopefully custom and recurring levels will available at some point.

Technically you can set up recurring payments at the app level so if people want to set it and forget it they should be able to do it before the website has that functionality. You might have to set up Venmo or Zelle or PayPal for it though, but I’m pretty sure any bank app will allow you to do it without third party apps.

Found this on the Richmond message board.
Pretty obvious how this works. It's all about the dollars

The transfer portal is about to explode with activity. Please consider donating to the U of R NIL program to help us keep our best players and also recruit top talent from the portal. The website is www.spidersnil.com There is a button for one time contributions. None of the Money goes to U of R or the coaching staff. It all goes to support our players.

could a percent of ticket sales be used for the collective? That would make the most sense to me.

Maybe I just need to get into a niche Mason sport where NIL isn’t a factor. How’s the wrestling program? Are they good? Has NIL infiltrated wrestling yet?
