Strange but true stat that helps explain Mason's A10 struggles: hasn't held any opponent in conference to under 35% from 3. Has allowed over 38% four times. Opponents shooting 56/144 (38.9%) through seven games. That's really bad.

I woke up feeling positive today. If we were to beat a top 3 A10 team this year it would be Rhode Island..... For this to happen:
1. Get Cyril Langevine in foul trouble (they have 7/8 guys that they play because of transfers and injuries)
2. Fats Russell has an awful day shooting contested three's with his greener than green light
3. Jeff Dowtin doesn't just drive by our guards that play ole defense every defensive trip
4. Paulsen doesn't muck up rotations (hasn't happened in 5 years but today is a new day)
5. Mar scores 6 points or more since we know Paulsen is going to play him and Calixte together for the ultimate "worst lineup ever"
Odds of all this happening are very low but I feel hopeful this morning

Clearly, our losses aren't attributable solely to one statistic. If you know me, you know I'm about to tell you that our offense stinks.
.88 assist:turnover ratio (264th, and I believe only ahead of LaSalle in the A-10).
11.1 assists per game (313th, last in the A-10). Interestingly, Dayton is #1 in the country.
41.7% fg% (276th, barely ahead of LaSalle and Fordham). Again, Dayton #1 in country.
31.8% 3ptfg% (267th, ahead of Rhode Island and Duquesne).
