Go Miami!!!
Long live coach L!!

It seems like you are trolling here, but I'll allow it. Feels good, doesn't it?

Now imagine the feeling of successfully trolling something for over 10 years on the Internet.

It's like raising a child. The highs...the lows...the ultimate feeling of pride and accomplishment through the vicissitudes of life.

Perhaps one day, if you live long enough, you will know this feeling

I'm not trolling. I just happen to strongly disagree with you trolling L. And yeah, it feels good defending him.

This took courage to say. Hats off to the one they call Buckets.

By the way, did you know Larranaga was born almost a full decade before "Old Yeller" even was written?
Maybe it is time for him to retire...maybe.
BUT, he is the best coach Mason has ever had. Period. 2 FFs, ACC Champion, HOF.

Here is Jeff Goodman's opinion on the Miami situation on X:

@GoodmanHoops

It might be time for 75-year-old Jim Larranaga.

Miami struggled a year ago, and has looked awful so far this season.

Charleston Southern wins at Miami as 25.5-point underdogs!! Easily the largest spread upset of the season!

Charleston Southern is the only school over the last 20 years to win two games as a 25+ point underdog. It also won at Missouri as 26-point ’dogs in December 2019.

I never thought when this thread was started that

1) it would survive 4 coaches
2) it would include discussing Larranaga legitimately retiring
3) Mason would not have anything more than 2 CBI appearances after Larranaga left.
4) This would still be going long enough that Tony Skinn retired, got into coaching, and became Mason's head coach.

I was hoping that Mason would make it back to the NCAAs before Larranaga retired, but I'm not sure that will happen.

Perhaps it’s sarcasm, and if so, feel free to ignore me.

I just don’t understand why there’s so much hate towards Coach L.

Now, I do understand the hate for Hewitt and English—especially English.

As someone who knew Coach L and attended some of his practices (which were open to everyone), I know how much he loved coaching and the players. But, the state of college basketball with the massive player turnover is ruining the game and driving great coaches who created a winning culture to retire.

This whole thread is sarcasm. The point of it was for Jollay to troll us during the Hewitt years, and its survived.

He got to the 2023 Final Four with one of the biggest NIL budgets in the country. The current state of the game extended his (fantastic) career.

3 straight years of missing the tournament, NIL is adopted, Ruiz invests big, Miami is back in the tournament, go to the F4, Ruiz starts to fall off, Miami starts to fall off.

I don't disagree with what you are saying. But, who's left from his 2023 Final Four?

Sure, Coach L benefited from the booster. Do you think that John Wooden would have won 10 NCAA championships without the benefit of a booster by the name of Sam Gilbert?

But, the fact of the matter is that the massive player turnover is adversely impacting the game; and great coaches who rely on instilling discipline and a winning culture are leaving the profession.
