Why harp on the 11 win season last year. Our roster was a mess because of the virus. Paulsen did as well as he could with it and we got some good wins.

Our roster was a mess because of an virus? Really, Shevon and Marko was a virus? no they just wasn't one of Paulsen guys. I'll take them over any of our bigs right now. If Shevon was healthy we would have had a much better season, but I do admire his heart and determination. He literally hobbled through the second half of the season. How do you replace 12 rebounds a game. Moore a point guard was our second leading rebounder. You tell me is something wrong with that picture????

Lol what? I'll just assume you are a noobie. I'm speaking about our entire sophomore class leaving. Marko suspension. Holloway quiting. Shevon and Moore injuries. At times we had probably 6 or 7 usable players in a game with most of them being freshmen (who were recruited last minute). Also FYI, the virus means Hewitt.

I miss the days of sparring with fans from other schools, especially T-Mac and Razor. Even when we had an occasional down season under Coach L, we could always vent by bantering with or taking it out on opposing fans. With our own board, it just seems like we either preach to the choir or eat our own. Maybe we should start a thread that's reserved solely for funny shit.

Totally get it and maybe it's very Paul Hewitt of me to think what we have is good. I would rather spend that huge amount of money on improving the Patriot Center, like the locker rooms, scoreboard..etc.

Here's the thing: from a ROI perspective, upgrading the arena locker room helps the players 16 days a year, while a dedicated practice facility makes a positive impact on their lives every day.

Done correctly, with lounge/study areas, it becomes the place where the players spend most of their time when they're not in class.

It's important because it gives the team a guaranteed practice site, but even more for the statement it makes about the university's commitment to basketball.

Kids notice and care about that stuff these days, so we have no choice but get in the game.

Anyone know if they've done any cosmetic stuff to the arena? When Edwards came in he mentioned fixing the lighting and I would pray that that's been handled by now.

It's time they do a major renovation or build a new arena, but neither will happen...

Mason doesn't have the time and money required for a renovation. Mason relies on Concert revenue.

And a new stadium just seems like a dream at this point. If we cant afford a practice facility, then we certainly cant afford a new arena.

I mean...fixing the lighting is a pretty small cost compared to a new arena. You can easily justify putting up a few more lights in an old arena....
