Our roster was a mess because of an virus? Really, Shevon and Marko was a virus? no they just wasn't one of Paulsen guys. I'll take them over any of our bigs right now. If Shevon was healthy we would have had a much better season, but I do admire his heart and determination. He literally hobbled through the second half of the season. How do you replace 12 rebounds a game. Moore a point guard was our second leading rebounder. You tell me is something wrong with that picture????Why harp on the 11 win season last year. Our roster was a mess because of the virus. Paulsen did as well as he could with it and we got some good wins.

Lol what? I'll just assume you are a noobie. I'm speaking about our entire sophomore class leaving. Marko suspension. Holloway quiting. Shevon and Moore injuries. At times we had probably 6 or 7 usable players in a game with most of them being freshmen (who were recruited last minute). Also FYI, the virus means Hewitt. Our roster was a mess because of an virus? That's awesome but these two former WVU players will always be my favorite:
We need more of gmutom's humor on these boards!
I truly mean this as no offense, but I'm inclined to believe that our (D-3) national championship-winning coach knows a little bit more than we do about what the program needs to compete with its peers.
When teams in our own league like vcu and UMass have these palatial practice facilities to lure recruits, we're basically tying our coach's hands behind his back by not even having a rudimentary gym our players can use at all hours.
It's no longer an extravagance, but a necessity.
I don't know about you, but I think this coach is gonna turn out to be special and I'd rather not see him walk because the largest school in Va couldn't or wouldn't meet the program's basic needs.
Totally get it and maybe it's very Paul Hewitt of me to think what we have is good. I would rather spend that huge amount of money on improving the Patriot Center, like the locker rooms, scoreboard..etc.
Anyone know if they've done any cosmetic stuff to the arena? When Edwards came in he mentioned fixing the lighting and I would pray that that's been handled by now.
It's time they do a major renovation or build a new arena, but neither will happen...
Mason doesn't have the time and money required for a renovation. Mason relies on Concert revenue.
And a new stadium just seems like a dream at this point. If we cant afford a practice facility, then we certainly cant afford a new arena.
I mean...fixing the lighting is a pretty small cost compared to a new arena. You can easily justify putting up a few more lights in an old arena....
100% agreed. This is a no brainer.
