Anyone know if the majority of donations typically come in today or in the lead up?

A significant majority usually come on Giving day itself.

Anyone know if the majority of donations typically come in today or in the lead up? Looks like they’re pacing at 39% to their overall donor goal, with a lot of specific funds/teams pacing under 50%.

I would hazard to guess that a majority of basketball funding comes in the lead up to basketball season, when donations are required for seat and hospitality purchases. Donations today do not count towards the upcoming seasons requirements.

As of 10:30, the masonhoops.com challenge related donations are up to $1,305. Let's get this total up to $5,000 by the end of the day.

As an added bonus, I know many of you guys on here dislike me so this is your chance to get back at me for anything I have said or done to piss you off. You can cost me money with every dollar you give and it benefits the team as well. Now that is like a double bonus. As a triple bonus, I will stop all hug related activities if we reach the $5,000 goal.

I think everyone here probably likes @99 Patriot, but, in the off chance you want to get back at him, your donations will cost him money as well.

Yea makes total sense. I was just speaking on the benchmarks that Athletics has set for Giving Day specifically.

Those goals are a moving target. Once they hit one, it increases to the next level up.

Great to see over $300k already raised today including more than $100k for men's basketball. As Brian said we're hoping you all max out the offered match specifically for the Masonhoops.com community. We are just over $1,700 towards our $5k goal now, so keep those donations rolling.

Correct, but it all ladders up into the overall goal they’re trying to hit which is 640 total donors and beating the $409k raised last year. Hopefully they can crush those numbers!

It’s crazy to think they are setting these goals considering there have been many years where they didn’t raise 400k for the entire year!

It looks like they may exceed $409K on significantly fewer donors, which is interesting. Inflation is real!

Yes- and stating obvious, but I think only 50% of your donation for the season can go up to a specific sport whereas this is 100% for whatever you give to.

I still miss the little guy!

I actually have two Gunstons to memorialize: Green Gunston (1995-2008) and Gold Gunston (2008-2019). Miss them both dearly. Now, everyone go donate to honor those that are unable to donate!
