Maybe we could play it while the team goes in for halftime. And play it after games as the team waves from halfcourt? That'd be a way of doing both things. It's just before a game you want to get pumped up.

sounds good to me. I think we are clearly on the same page here and need to get the ball rolling on this. lol

If i recall correctly the fight song (while good) is played 5 times in one given game. 1. as the team takes the court. 2. halftime buzzer. 3. when they come back from halftime 4. the under 4 timeout in the 2nd half. 5. end of the game, (win or lose). It might be six times if they play it at both under 4 timeouts. you know the "Tee-Shirt" timeouts. that needs to be reeled in a bit.

Wow. That's a lot! Talk about overkill! Who makes the call on stuff like this? Doc?

Not 100% sure who makes the call on that but im going to track it during the season opener in a few weeks. It probably is Doc and they have a system but yes if its 6 times a game thats complete overkill.

PMP hasn't been to a game in a few years. Are the creepy tshirt guy and even creepier announcer still involved?

Well that's pretty cool. I mean, thunder sticks suck a** but the glowing green thing with the lights off is cool. If I'm gonna have to listen to something annoying me all game I'd prefer a drunk undergrad yelling obscenities at opposing players, not 6 year olds with thunder sticks and parents with a disturbing lack of control.
Thunder stix wouldn't be given out for a real game, I'm pretty sure they violate NCAA rules on noisemakers.

Can we get away from living on a prayer? the Laranega days are long gone, time to move on.

I like when the green machine plays a rendition of a current song.

No. No. No. NOoooooooooOOOoooooOooooooooooOOOooooo!

Seriously!? What year did you graduate mason? Or are you still attending? If its the latter of the two, please don't ever say that again. That song has been a staple in Mason Basketball and Mason Athletics and sorry that you don't like it. It gets the crowd goin and honestly, it's one of my favorite songs they play. To this day, whenever I hear that song I belt it out and it brings back great memories of Mason basketball.

I could be wrong about this, but I think someone in the band makes a decision of the next song to be played at the next full/media timeout after the last timeout is completed. A number is written on a whiteboard, shown to everyone in the band, and the music is played accordingly.

I do think Joe is right though.

It's always played at a certain point in the game. I should know this as I was the mascot but that was years ago. If I remember correctly, its a set song played during the 2nd half during the first called time out that extends to a full. It's like that so that the cheerleaders, dancers, and masonettes will know automatically whats going on. Just like the final media time out in the 2nd is automatically the fight song.

This forum cracks me up, yes I've graduated.

But if you think your opinion matters more than a current student’s opinion then you're a sad pathetic man. You had your fun. Time to move on, and let the students have their fun.

I say it all the time. It's a staple.. but I wish they would play other songs game after game. Tired of hearing the same songs.. I'm cool with LOAP but I'm over the Rage songs...

OK....you get all the other songs, I want LOAP. Where is the entitlement in that?

Green Lantern has earned his entitlement - he paid his taxes and the dues that enable your ability to enjoy. Now go get that man a beer and relax.
