Well, that was fun. Troy's dunks were off the charts. I seriously thought he had a good shot at making the foul line dunks ala Jordan/Dr. J. Just a bit short, but a crazy good try. We left when the socially conscious choir music started. Not sure what that was all about.

The start was incredible. The atmosphere and Doc Nix were off the charts!

Best:
1. Doc Nix performance at the beginning
2. Troy's dunks
3. Introductions through Gunston's mouth.

Worst:
1. Women's scrimmage with 2 made baskets in 5 minutes.
2. The old people changing clothes.
3. Man in the Mirror at the end. Really?

What you are crazy, the old ppl changing clothes was the best. Quick change! I told my wife that's how quickly I need her to change when we go out.

I liked Quick Change also, but the Tango/Salsa theme may be a tough sell for a college crowd. Probably went over better with alums and family back for the weekend. The Frisbee Dogs were great too. Gotta say, nothing bad or obnoxious this year, all very entertaining, except for the choral lecture at the very end.

Can we get away from living on a prayer? the Laranega days are long gone, time to move on.

I like when the green machine plays a rendition of a current song.

why don't we live on skill and talent instead of "livin' on a prayer"

and the lyrics "We've got to hold on to what we've got, It doesn't make a difference if we make it or not"

Come on, its time to hold people accountable. It does matter if we make it or not. We have to let go of the final 4, Larranaga, and living on a prayer

We should take down the final four banner. No more living in the past. And bush-league Kentucky has a banner from their 1948 championship hanging in their arena. They need to move on and stop living in the past! The nerve of celebrating accomplishments...

Not sure I have a lot of passion one way or another, but as a school rather devoid of history and tradition, why take issue with the one thing that has sort of become one. Do you think there are threads on the Badger football boards saying they need to scrap the House of Pain song each game because it's tired and been done? Or Maybe Virginia Tech wants some new entrance music? Maybe, but to me these seem like cool traditions.

LOL do you still wear your high school varsity jacket too?

Hanging banners and holding on to the final 4 run like it was yesterday is just a tad different. Most of the current students were under the age of 10 during the final 4.

PS - thought MM was fine, but could be so much better. Mostly the production value was lacking. Too many instances of dead air between acts, the band was interrupted mid-song when the cheerleaders were ready to do their act, the coaches had to wait a minute for their microphone to come live, the PowerPoint of the players was not in the same order that the players were announced, and the song at the end was a complete disconnect. A little rehearsal and a tighter script of things and this comes across as a well-polished performance.

no need to "move on" from Livin' on a Prayer. its nostalgic and maybe one day our prayers will be answered again and we will make it back there, so i say keep playing it. Yes the Green Machine needs to wear green, ive been saying this for years. it makes no sense to have them in gold. BTW, if anyone doesnt know the song played during the promo video on Friday night was that of WWE star Finn Balor. its a great theme and Mason should use it prior to the team taking the floor instead of what they've been using for the last, i lost count of how many years.

I saw some photos of glowsticks for the Kryptonite theme. Weren't the best of pics but it looked really cool, especially considering the place wasn't full. Could be a cool tradition moving forward.

This is a pretty dumb reaction and I don't think you even understand what people are arguing. No one is saying move on from the Final Four, we are just saying move on from a song that makes the program sound like "The Little Mid-Major That Could!". A lot has changed and we are now in a conference that sometimes gets 6 NCAA tournament bids and a damn good TV deal. No team in our conference needs a "prayer" to get noticed anymore in college basketball.

I don't think we should ever completely move on from Living on a prayer as I think 99's point is spot on about it being one of the few traditions we have, but I've thought for years we should start playing it much more selectively - like during a key moment in the game when we force the other team to take a time out or something like that, and only during those kinds of moments at most once per game. Maybe one more time after a big or exciting win.

Can be used as a rallying cry to energize the crowd.

It's the only "tradition" we have and I thoroughly look forward to it when I come back for games. If anything should be changed its the intro.

I certainly would prefer hearing anything than Zombie Nation after seeing a cheerleader use a wind up machine. That has been going on since I was a freshman..I was a freshman in 2003.

Balor's music would be cool, of course there would only be 10 people probably throwing their hands up at the proper points lol
