IF you look close, Lil Dave is in the background with his head on a table.

Anyone know where we can find his remarks online? I'd like to hear what he talked about.

He said he was going to get hookers and blow for any recruit who signed an LOI at the end of an official visit, dropped the mic and left the room. Or so I’m told.

sounds like my type of guy

I was at the welcome reception (open to the Mason community). No real specific content. First Generation guy who indicated that Mason's "story" resonated with his own experience. Too early for anything substantive. He doesn't start until July 1

Figured it wouldn’t be too much of note, just thought maybe he talked about certain things mason related (engineering, economics, and just maybe some final four reference)

This was probably in the works before he was named president, but I don't know where else to put this-
SCAR will become the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution

I'm all for honoring folks at Mason. Did President Carter have ties to Mason?

Also, this is not meant to be political. Just curious how the school decided to name the school after someone (regardless of political affiliation). I feel like I need to say this so nobody gets triggered.....

It would have to be the same way Scalia got his name on the Law School, right, someone made a donation? It might be this guy: Stuart Eizenstat, who was in the Carter administration and wrote a book about Carter and conflict resolution. Terry McAuliffe apparently teaches in the SCAR school and also might have had something to do with it.

It sounds like this is part of expanding the Arlington campus and giving it some more legitimacy?

I am doubtful. No announcement of a donor like with Scalia. I think we gave the honor away to add political balance perception.

I don't think it's a token attempt at "balancing" things out. The Carters have a long-established reputation in conflict resolution as is evident if you read the link embedded in the tweet posted by Five Two : https://scar.gmu.edu/news/583461 .

The Carter Center in Atlanta (https://www.cartercenter.org/peace/conflict_resolution/index.html) has a mission quite consistent with SCAR and while no specific new donor appears behind the re-naming, I think that the new name is highly likely to attract donors interested in underwriting research and training efforts in conflict resolution. Savvy move.

If I can close this staffing business deal with Oracle I'm proposing, we will be watching the Rick Pitino coached Patriots at The Chank Center and studying at the widely respected George Mason School of Chankonomics.

Sleeperpick will my CPO (Chief of pissing people off)
GmuJim will be the curator of the Dave Paulsen Shrine (pretty cushy job as the only visitors will pigeons and Jim himself)
Dj3 will be my CGSP - Chief of Grammar, Spelling and Puncutaton
GMUBrian will still be much richer than me

Consider this my acceptance of the prestigious position. I’ve quit my panhandling on the side of the street that @p8triotfan4life found out I do for a living thru his extensive spy network
