Hate ....

I hate that the band insists on chanting "left-right-left" when an opposing player fouls out, more so when we're down by 10 with a few seconds to go!
Bah, we have to have fun somehow. People cycle in and out of the band every semester, so many of us (myself included) think it's pretty funny.

But I agree with
The kids don't really have much guidance and don't know when to heckle, so they do it at terrible times because otherwise they wouldn't get to heckle at all.

As a guy who used to heckle with the best of them and can't even bring myself to get emotionally involved in the games anymore, it's pretty sad. I hate that.

I hate our students don't have a reason to heckle anyone anymore and when they do it's usually terrible.
I came into the band thinking that I'd be able to go wild and say all kinds of crazy stuff, and indeed that was the case in the pre-season. I'm thinking that it has to do with the increased attention being focused on the band, especially with the team dropping L's like there's no tomorrow. After one game, in fact, someone looked up Doc's email address and sent him a message complaining that the band was too rowdy.
To reiterate: I'm a bit let down by the increasing restrictions on what we can say, and I think it's indicative of a cultural shift more than anything.

I hate that sports radio guys sound bright and energetic when talking about MD, UVA, and vcu. Then their voices change to a lower, unenthusiastic tone when they say Mason is, "also in action tonight."

I hate that I can't recall the last time one of our players launched himself over the scorer's table trying to retrieve a loose ball.

I hate that our players are no longer required to make such sacrifices for the good of the team to garner considerable playing time.

I hate that the "intensity" upon which our program was built has been completely eradicated and replaced by a laid-back vibe that looks an awful lot like "don't give a sh!t."

Hate, hate, hate. Until Hewitt is gone, it's all I have left.

I hate that you people can't see the brilliance within the Hewitt game plan.

I hate that my husband wanted to watch the run to the final four DVD last night. I hate that I cried like a baby. I hate that Scott Cherry isn't our coach.

I hate that sports radio guys even talk about vcu. Of course, I also hated that radio sports guys covered Baltimore as if it were our baseball team.

I hate that Hewitt is the highest paid person in VA government:
http://www.bizjournals.com/washingt...he-most-in-virginia-government-check.html?ana

Ranking No. 1 is George Mason University men's basketball coach Paul Hewitt with an annual salary of $666,347.50. Administrative and academic professors at the University of Virginia, Virginia Tech (listed below as VPI & State University), Virginia Commonwealth and other universities fill the top of the list.

While Hewitt and vcu men's basketball Shaka Smart are both in the top 25, it's surprising Virginia Tech football coach Frank Beamer — who's roamed the lucrative sidelines of college football in Blacksburg for 28 seasons now — doesn't even crack the top 42,000 on the Virginia pay listing.

Turns out Beamer, who earned more than $2.4 million in 2013, according to The Washington Post, earns most of his salary outside state sources. This offers explanation as to why UVa. football coach Mike London ($330,750) makes less in state salary than top assistants Tom O'Brien, Joe Tenuta and Steve Fairchild ($450,000 apiece).

How is it that Shaka Smart's salary on the books is only $450,000? How is his pay package structured to make it so low?

Hewitt hates it when you talk about his outrageous salary. I heard him get flustered about it when questioned on a radio show. Embarrassing for GMU.

They pay about a million bucks of Shaka's salary annually through student fee revenue.

Doesn't go on the books as state pay. Kinda slick. They have creative people in their athletic department and administration.

On the other hand, making Blewitt the highest-paid state employee while he was simultaneously leading our basketball program into the toilet is utterly humiliating.

TOC can go choke on a bag of John Holmes-sized c*cks.

I hate subsidies, but I am kind of liking the fact that vcu fans, at least those that can get jobs, have had to pay for our coach.
