I hate that the band insists on chanting "left-right-left" when an opposing player fouls out, more so when we're down by 10 with a few seconds to go!
Man we picked that up from the UCLA ban in the Final Four when Big Baby fouled out. Thought it was hilarious and kept doing it for many solid years at the Pat Center.
You gotta think, though, that the current band has never known success really, much like the players. There are a few people in the band who were around but shit, even Doc wasn't at the Final Four. It's almost complete turnover. They were yelling "warm up the bus" when we were down 2 in the final minutes of the Princeton game. The kids don't really have much guidance and don't know when to heckle, so they do it at terrible times because otherwise they wouldn't get to heckle at all.
As a guy who used to heckle with the best of them and can't even bring myself to get emotionally involved in the games anymore, it's pretty sad. I hate that.
I hate our students don't have a reason to heckle anyone anymore and when they do it's usually terrible.
