Why do you say?

I had the same question. Shevon is the one player I'm not worried about on this roster. Paulsen wants him to cut down on his TOs, but I don't see that hindering his effectiveness at all. In fact, once it becomes second nature, it should make him even more productive.

To me, Shevon appeared confused and indecisive during the drills and scrimmage. Of course, there's plenty of time before conference play begins. But, I understood why Coach Paulsen called him a work-in-progress during A10 Media Day.

I love Shevon, but I'm not expecting a huge year from him. His strength is in rebounding, and putbacks. My hope is that he's scoring less this year, because the guards are taking better shots, but I expect we're still two years out for that. If Paulsen had Shevon for four years, we'd have a draft pick on our team.

Livingston will def be something special. During one transition he stopped ball and started to yell, team I can't hear you, team I can't hear you."

I was really impressed with him when the team came over to the fans at the end and clapped he came over and shook people's hands who were sitting there. A classy thing to do. Albiet a little thing, but still classy.

Heard him say that they will do this drill (to continue on Monday as time in the gym ran out in favor of volleyball - perhaps another case for a dedicated practice facility) until they make 80 of 100. He knows that championship teams hit 80 percent or higher from the charity stripe. Memphis is the only team I remember hitting much worse than this and having a shot at the national title; still, they didn't win it.

Felt a little embarrassed for that lady, but bless her, she was there supporting the team. After Coach said "he graduated" my sister chimed in with "and that's a good thing", trying to lighten the uneasy moment.

I was stuffing my hangover face with dominos and missed the Q&A, was the lady who asked about Corey the same lady that asked about Tony "Snow" in Dayton back in 06 by any chance?

Out of towner. Hopefully I'm not being too much of a fanboy, but the only thing that concerns me regarding Shevon is whether or not he's healthy. If his production is down after a few games then I'll be concerned.

BTW, what's with gmu05? Seems very bitter given Hewitt's gone. We all know it'll be a while before GMU is top 4 in the A-10.

I remember Paulsen saying when he first got here that all his practices will be done at full speed saying something like "games are played at full speed why would we not practice at full speed." That was very evident at the practice. Even in the shooting drills at the beginning, the players were rebounding their shots as if they were in a game. It's evident that the players are told to hustle. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a more fit and higher stamina team this year than we've seen in a while.

Perhaps, I overreacted to what I saw on Saturday when I posted my concern about Shevon. But, Shevon is clearly still learning the game. And, last season he had 76 turnovers (and just 6 assists), so this is clearly unacceptable to Coach Paulsen.

Shevon's production won't really go up this year unless we get some shooters going on the outside. These freshmen aren't great shooters and that's why they were still available when Paulsen got here.

Put backs maybe? That will help his double digit scoring/rebounding average.

Is that a real comment on the freshmen not being great shooters when they haven't played 1 game yet?

Murrell is a great shooter, perhaps the best on our team already.

Among the reasons why he was still available for us so late in the recruiting calendar, he's only 6-2 and thus a little undersized as a SG.

But he's practically a giant compared to Holloway, who really is a SG trapped in a PG's body.

You got that from watching one intra-squad scrimmage at the RAC? These are vastly under recruited prospects who need to prove to us they can play in the A-10, I'm not ready to make that assumption yet.

Jim wasn't at the scrimmage. But many people have said Murrell is PERHAPS (meaning, it a possibility) the best shooter on the team. But he is a freshman.

Certainly was the best shooter that played at the scrimmage since Pat was on the bench.

Ike Tate shot over 40% from three in HS, we didn't see much shooting like that until real late in his college career here.
