PLAYER SELECTION

To be one of the 64 players selected for invitation to the P.I.T. by the Player Selection Committee, players must be seniors in good academic and athletic department standing. The P.I.T. considers players from NCAA Divisions I, II and III, as well as NAIA. Players must certify that they have not been “paid to play” in any basketball game or tournament in accordance with NCAA By-Laws 2-3(I)

This brings up an interesting point - there seems to be a tragic lack of names on the patriot club donor list - not sure I've ever seen a former player listed.

The point of my post is the lack of former players - not that you randomly found a reference to one being named on a scholarship.

Love Jonny L by the way.

BTW, at least one poster and his wife have an endowed athletic scholarship.

Kolek, Miller, Oduro and XJ.

It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if Paulsen was not fired and those four had one more year playing together.

Still missing a viable 4 on that team and absolutely no depth. You might be able to go 6 deep with Polite but that’s about it.

Is DP the best recruiter Mason has ever had?

Good/fair question. Lots of ways to interpret it. If Kolek and Miller stick in the NBA and have long successful careers one could argue that on behalf of DP. Both were under recruited out of high school. But, the bottom line is that DP did not win. Coach L is the gold standard, at least in my opinion, for Mason thus far yet he has no Mason NBA talent to show for it. For me it boils down to how you define "best recruiter ever."
