Coppin State is a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). They were picked to finish last in the league in preseason polls. Ryan Archey was voted to the Preseason 2nd Team but he has not been much of a factor thus far. To date he hasn’t even started a game for the Eagles.

The game marks the return of Peter Oduro. It will be interesting to see what kind of welcome he gets from the crowd.

The game is on ESPN+.

Stats: https://coppinstatesports.com/sports/mens-basketball/stats/2024-25

Thoughts: They’re not a great shooting team and they have struggled defensively as well. Simply put, they are horrible. BUT, we haven't exactly been lighting the world on fire so what should be a 30 point win becomes a 5 point win and a struggle.

Discuss.

Is it possible that Tony and his coaches simply aren't good at evaluating talent?
Seems like everybody they brought in for this year sucks.

No, just struggling to turn all these new players into a cohesive unit. Unlike most Mason teams this one has been less than the sum of its individual parts so far — there’s at least 26 games left to change that.

We should collectively shift our focus to the women, who deserve it. Let the men’s team earn it back.
Here's the info on the women's game on Sunday at 6 (no conflict with a Commander's game) at Marshall on ESPN+.
Note--at Wake Forest on Wednesday at 7 on AACN (Channel 571 on FIOS)-I've already set my dvr so I can watch it after getting home from the men's game!

Coppin has 79 turnovers thru 6 games. If we play like hungry dogs we can be aggressive and pounce all over Coppin St by turning defense into fast break points. The turnaround has to start with this game. “Just Win Baby” - Al Davis

Like others, I am struggling to get excited about this game. Of course this is precisely the type of game that will jump up and bite us. If we are trailing at halftime, I'm claiming the entire Miller Lite beer table next to the bar.

Except they didn't suck when he was watching their games from last year.
