One thing we're absolutely not going to get against UVa that we did in the first 2 tourney games is the ability for our PG to come right off the high ball screen and either drive or pass.

UVa's bigs hedge the high ball screen as hard and as well as anyone in the country.

Our guards and the screener (usually Marko/Jalen) need to be on the same page, otherwise turnovers will ensue in bunches.

Thats when you slip the screen killing the hedge.

Looks like we're not the only ones with fouling issues this season

First time in the past three seasons

UVa committed more fouls than its opponents in three straight games. Although the differential was only 18-15, LBSU shot 20 FTs to our 8. Defense is getting better and adjusting but we are still giving up a lot of fouls on drives into the lane that end up in two FTs.

I think somebody said this already, but this is the ultimate "we've got nothing to lose" game. If we lose be 20 - we're supposed to. If we play a top 10 team closely for stretches that is something to build on. Unless we lose by 70 we are going to get a lot of positives out of the experience.

First time this season im actually worried about not winning pregame. Hoping for a win but wont be too heartbroken if we lose.

When we look "big picture" we can't help but learn from this game and build invaluable experience. Even if we lose every other game this season by 40, we've still done more in the last month to build an excellent program in the long term in versus the previous 4 years combined.

This is why Marko's three 3s were so huge. I think he surprised OSU a bit hitting those. And Grayer just going off from behind the arc. Can both of them repeat that performance? I don't know. In order to win this game they will.

I like Marko's savvy here to be the X factor (so long as he can limit his wtf moments).

Could Marko be turning into Mr. Clutch? During regulation, he seemed to be raining bricks from 3-point range. Then he makes two in OT, from the same spot, to the right of the foul line. He also is exerting more leadership, continually talking to the other players and getting them in position.

what were we vs ole miss and osu?

Don't know where we were before-but we must have been substantially below our current standing.

Oklahoma St is currently #6o and Mississippi #72 so they would have been better than that before we beat them

DP needs to be in the refs ears all day long about the new "freedom of movement" rules. UVA will push the limits to the max on the enforcement of this concept. We have no chance if the refs let them bully things up. They're basically a way more talented version of those early 2000s UNCW teams. My head tells me we keep it close for a half, but just don't have enough perimeter shooting to win the game. Regardless, a very successful trip.

Brogdon will get his. We can't afford to let others to have career nights. Marko and Moore will be the X factors here....if they can perform like they have in this tourney then we will be cutting down the nets. Need to limit our turnovers to no more than 10 to get the W. May it rain 3's from Grayer and Otis!
