It's times like this this when my enormous Verizon FIOS bill makes me feel it's worth it.

I went from paying over $230/month to now just paying $60 for internet, plus a few subscriptions here and there (CBS, Netflix) and use an HD antenna, but it really only works well in my living room because of trees.

Very important if you are going to switch to streaming only to have someone give you their cable log in because most streaming programming still requires it and only a few you can do a la carte (HBO, Showtime, etc.). Also upgraded internet speeds recently by switching to Cox, which was cheaper than Verizon's costs for slower speed, and added a wifi extender for the basement.

not to get way off topic, but was YouTube's streaming service an option? I'm getting really close to dropping FiOS as I find I'm watching more and more on Amazon, Netflix, HBOgo, etc.
