UnderHow long before KD is gone? Over/under jan 1?
Despite his issues I still think he’s the best PG(ish) player on this roster today. I wouldn’t count him out yet. Obviously seems like there’s some other stuff going on here but I’m not going to go out in the guy 5 games into the season, especially after Tony has seemingly refused to play him for the most part.Talented schmalented. He’s a head case, always has been.
Would be the 2nd straight season a player left the team early. How long before KD is gone? Over/under jan 1?
If he’s not playing, there’s a reason and it’s not because Tony is trying to lose games.Despite his issues I still think he’s the best PG(ish) player on this roster today. I wouldn’t count him out yet. Obviously seems like there’s some other stuff going on here but I’m not going to go out in the guy 5 games into the season, especially after Tony has seemingly refused to play him for the most part.
To paraphrase Ivan Drago, "If he leaves, he leaves."Would be the 2nd straight season a player left the team early.
Over. He ain’t leaving. How long before KD is gone? Over/under jan 1?
Today was not mediocre. Today was beyond bad, I think KD has more upside than any other pg however clearly he’s pissing off the coaching staff. Not sure whether he shakes it off or what? Either way priority #1 is pay an actual pg in off season.I don’t get caught up in the antics, as frustrating as they can be.
I say play KD 25 minutes a game for the rest of the OOC schedule and see how things go. If he sh-ts the bed and gets benched or leaves, we’re the mediocre team we saw today; if he emerges as the star he has the potential to be, we’re a much different team that has a chance to get incrementally better every game with a real chance to make a run in the A10 tournament.
Over. He ain’t leaving.
it’s becoming weird. I don’t think he’ll quit. I think coaching staff may boot him is issue. There’s clearly major issues with this team. Maybe Tony is trying to motivate him? It’s just not working yet…..Also KD didn’t just become the player he is when he got here — this is who he’s always been. If his antics bother the staff so much they won’t play him then I question their decision making because this is exactly who he was at Auburn.
Anderson is a curious case. Visually, he's a guy who clearly lacks lateral quickness. Hell, he saunters up the court like he's got heel spurs and maybe a bad hip. But...he can f*cking shoot the basketball so find a way to get him shots.I will say judging from the minutes today the rotation definitely shortened as the game went on. You can see that it was a 7 man rotation for the most part. That’s good but I still have questions. Also liked we went to Jq at point for longer stretches. At this point he might even get above KD on the depth chart. Is what it is.
What I don’t understand is how Newton gets 38 mins and Anderson gets 11. And even when we needed to get Newton out, we went two bigs instead. Emejuru had a solid game whereas Haynes did not.
It’s not like a guy like Anderson didn’t play well in his previous program. Kid didn’t come to mason for his 5th year to play 10 mins a game.
I can chalk up one missed game-winning play to execution, but not four plays.Respectfully disagree. Brayden had about as good a look as you can get 3 feet from the bucket at the end of the second overtime. Not sure why he didn’t either shoot or throw a pump fake and see if he could draw a foul, but it was a monumental brain fart to basically toss Woody a live grenade at the FT line and expect him to do something with it.
There are many examples in sports where coaches think they can “fix” a player who has consistently behaved like a knucklehead (or worse) for previous coaches. Also KD didn’t just become the player he is when he got here — this is who he’s always been. If his antics bother the staff so much they won’t play him then I question their decision making because this is exactly who he was at Auburn.
We’ve never been effective at burning the clock on purpose and then getting a good last shot.I can chalk up one missed game-winning play to execution, but not four plays.
