Central Michigan will be gassed from the Marquette game and traveling with little turnaround. Mason easily covers the spread. Gotta hook up a VPN before Wednesday...

With the win over Stony Brook, kenpom has moved us from #98 to #80. We're 18th in Div 1 in effective defensive fg% .

Meanwhile CMU has a good second half against Marquette, losing only by 8 points after being down 15 at the half.

Will the students choose to attend this game or the A-10 soccer semifinal match - https://gomason.com/

It's gonna be close to freezing. I can't imagine our stoic student section standing around outside with their hands in the pockets for a soccer game. Maybe the stadium cup giveaway will entice them lol.

I will however be dragging some coworkers with me to Oh George for drinks and annoying the old man in front of me who can't be bothered to even clap once during the game.

Teams still finding themselves at this time of year and are hard to read.

CMU lost to Stony Brook by one but play it close against Marquette.

Will be interesting to see how this game plays out.

Mason 75
CMU 64

CMU has some big guys, so Gio should get a lot of time where he isn't clearly the biggest guy on the court.

One of them (Ugnius Jarusevicius), according to kenpom, is near 100th in both OR% and DR% and 192d in Block %. Gio is 34th in OR% but not ranked nationally in those other categories.

Things want to see tonight:

1) KD getting enough leash that he plays more than 20 minutes at the point.

2) Zach Anderson building on the confidence from the lat game and working his way more into the rotation.

3) Woody Newton being smarter about his shot selection.

4) Fewer than 10 TOs

What I’d like to see:

1) Cokley earning more than garbage minutes.

2) An Austin Ball sighting.

3) A clearer picture of who is going to be our main PG and who is going to be the main backup (and hoping that answer isn’t O’Connor for either one).
