19-20 FTs... Mar leading scorer for Mason... AJ Wilson had 8, count them, 8 fooking blocks

Mar also had a double double -- 22 points and 11 rebounds... but 8 of those 11 rebounds were offensive ones

This is what a Paulsen team looks like.

• Our arguably best player gets hurt and is out of the second half.
• CSUN could not miss early.
• A freshmen in Mar had a double double.
• AJ picked the perfect time to show his stuff (WOW!)
• All this this with Kier hobbled with an ankle late in the second half.
• Otis is so good, we just expect it now and his heroics are hardly mentioned.

I am truly amazed at this team early on. Honestly I don't take any game as a gimme win with so many freshmen and no seniors. But I now also don't count us out of any game.

Jaire being out really forced Paulsen to rely on the freshmen and they (especially Mar) had no problem. And AJ.... We could not have won this game without his blocks and clutch 3 pointers.

Also we have been shooting 53% for Free throw land all year and right when we needed it, we finally came through with a 19 for 20 performance.

This is what a David Paulsen looks team like. Just an amazing, amazing coach.

Fair to say this game is why some of us are so excited about AJ.

He's obviously not going to block 8 shots every game, but he has a tantalizing blend of skills and athleticism that is unlike anyone else on our team.

All he needed was a little confidence. He should have that now.
