Game 33: (A-10 Tournament, Brooklyn, NY), St. Bonaventure, Friday, March 15th, 2:30 PM, NBCSN

I mean, I put a couple hundred on Bonnie. Hope I'm wrong, but that's a great line.

Been wrong before...most notably when I thought Mason minus Skinn wouldn't cover Michigan St.

They did.

Don’t know if it’s a good thing or bad, but Reuter wasn’t even looking to score when he caught the ball yesterday. I think he only took one shot and it was a reverse layup that got stuffed by the GW stiff Langarica.

Calixte didn’t fare much better, strangely. I thought it was one of his least effective offensive games.

Beyond the bigs, though, the guards need to be smarter about attacking Osunnyi. Gotta look to dish the ball instead of thinking they can get all the way to the rim and getting their sh!t repeatedly pushed in.
Agreed. Langarica blocked Greg twice, Otis once, and Reuter once.... made that soft Euro look like Hakeem lol

Also agree with regards to Calixte yesterday. They have to still work with him on how to go up/draw contact and finish and he has done it at times. He just continues to get better so I'm sure he will figure it out.

I'm not touching any games today - been a lot of odd results - not necessarily upsets but scoring and covers.

There's always a huge danger the idle team comes out flat against the team that is already "warmed up" especially early in the tournament, too.

I have no regrets losing 200 for a Mason win. Still less than paying 275 for an all-session A-10 ticket.

Start betting on your team bitch - not against.

He needs a little fire in him on the offensive end. He looks too "nice." Need him to get pissed off and go up strong. His positioning is already there (I love how he manages to just kind of lose himself on the baseline and set himself up for a dish when our guards drive.) Time to start going up for the dunk and drawing contact.

Please get him to train with Will Fu*king Thomas this off season!

Part of me wonders if Calixte subconsciously tries to avoid contact to avoid having to shoot FTs. Although he is getting better from the line (meaning less horrible), he still looks really uncomfortable. Good FT shooters relish contact in the paint, because they know one way or the other they are going to get their two points.

I think how we start in this game is how its going to go. Start out slow and we're probably done. A quick early lead would be nice

I can agree with that. I think he’s developed a lot all around but maybe he is still tentative to a degree.

Yeah but there are benefits of getting fouled unrelated to points. If he draws two fouls on Osunnyi in the first two minutes and then bricks all four free throws, I'm still a happy man. In fact, I'd way rather that then go up weak on two layups and get one to go down but draw no fouls.

WOW, Marcus Evans from vcu just blew out his knee. He is writhing in pain. Hate vcu but would never wish this on a young man. He was not only All A10 basketball but also All A10 Academic team.

Devastating for vcu.
