It’s already been stated, but it can’t be said enough.... the freshmen were so impressive today. They all played their role effectively, and stepped up in a major way to keep the season going.

That was the best game I think I’ve seen from AJ. I’m always conflicted with him because while everyone jocks his athletic ability, he makes a lot of mistakes that, for me, cancel out his good plays. Over the last few weeks, his mistakes have gotten fewer and fewer. Today, they were nonexistent. He played great.

The freshmen:
46 points on 15-26 FG (58%), 4-7 3FG (57%), with 19 boards and 8 steals.

The sophs/juniors:
34 points on 8-38 FG (21%), 2-11 3FG (18%), with 13 boards and 2 steals.

Remember the first game of the season when our bench (3 freshman) scored zero points and several on here were ready to declare some guys busts? It’s almost as though our staff developed these guys over the course of the year to become valuable contributors. Fantastic job by all four of them. We wouldn’t be playing tomorrow without them.

Wilson was terrific on the glass and around the basket with his length and athleticism. Greene with some clutch 3s. Mar was solid. Livingston bought his way to the FT line in the 2nd half and made the Minutemen pay.

Regarding that late foul call on UMass on the push. What the hell was the coach yelling and screaming about? Something is not right with that dude. Let’s say the whistle wasn’t blown, they still missed the shot. I was embarrassed for him honestly.

UMASS side of the court sounds louder on the tee-vee

There were 14 UMASS fans there not counting their band. We had hundreds and were pretty loud and more rowdy than normal (our geriatric bunch couldn't fit their wheel chairs and walkers into the Metro so missed the game). Just no way they were louder at any point in that game

@Patriotsince81 was loud as usual and we really laid into the refs. They were HORRIBLE. That Sinbad wannabee was soooooooo bad

we moved center court and sat with vcu fans who seemed to root for us. They had one drunker than me fan that started an argument with us, but it seemed he fell asleep in his chair shortly after that. Had a couple Mason fans trickle in near us. We could not have sat with the group tonight with how profane we got towards the refs (well that one ref in particular)
