Well, a, 35 states have anti/inducement laws on the books when it comes to NIL and b it was his reasoning in his judgment (yes, ensuring competitive balance is important but I see no harm…he made a judgment call not based on law at all).

All this talk of inducement seems to be pure speculation by the posters talking about it. We have people already calling for laws based on speculation…

That was stupid of him to even talk about consequences in that manner. There are always consequences. Whether they are good or bad is in the eye of the beholder.

I dunno - when I read about cases before the Supreme Court it seems consequences are discussed. Regardless, what a disaster. A major league baseball player can't quit midseason because free agency is coming up. Why should a college kid be allowed to?

I don’t know about the rumors of Hall leaving, but his ankle was definitely an issue. Saw it in warmup when he was walking off the court. He had a significant limp in his step.

Tony made a critical coaching mistake by not calling timeout near the 4 minute mark. Momentum was shifting and he was waiting for the TV timeout rather than taking a timeout to regroup. Cost them 4 points right there.

Kelly has to be better with the ball. Seven turnovers is unacceptable.

I’m assuming he had to say that because the courts allow the major professional leagues to persist in a monopoly of the marketplace under the argument that they have an interest in doing what they do to ensure competitive balance within their leagues. For whatever reason, they don’t think this applies to educational institutions.

The only nice thing I saw today was honoring the previous public address announcer who died. That was a kind gesture from the school.
