I just want to point out that the team we beat tonight had an RPI of 48 and started 3 sophomores and 2 juniors with 2 freshmen and 1 sophomore coming off the bench. They were 8-4 in the A-10 and 18-9 overall.
Youth is no excuse.

Love that some people are using a win to still bash the coach and prognosticate his excuses for future failure. Walk away from the computer and enjoy a win for once.
While our defense down the stretch was abysmal, I liked that a lot of guys made big plays to hold on to this one. BA's 3 to take it from 7 to 10, PH's 3 and subsequent dribble drive, Marco's save, Jenkins offensive board and putback. Nice, especially for the 3 underclassmen mentioned to see them learning how to win. Despite their talent that's something I'm not sure our seniors ever completely learned how to do.
Toward the end of the game the TV broadcast showed our bench, Corey and VG said something to each other and then shook hands, I wonder what they said.
Related to the post I quoted, it looked like we were playing a pretty good zone D in the first half when we took the early lead. We won the first half big. We lost the second half (luckily not by as much as we won the first half) and if I recall correctly we did not play nearly as much zone D. I am trying to remember if we played it at all. It looked like Anthony went off, partially when Moore got tired at the end. It seems that more zone D would have helped with that too.
Did I miss something?
I haven't read through all these posts since yesterday afternoon. my thoughts on last night:
- there was zero energy in the building at the tip. I'm shocked we came out and played as well as we did, seeing we have nothing to play for and they are (now, probably "were") on the bubble
-it was a battle of matching Nike style uniforms. But as the good Dr Gunnie pointed out to me, their fonts are much better than ours
-with about 6 minutes in the game, was anyone else worried we were on our way to an L? We continue to leave team's best shooters wide open for 3s. Thankfully, they missed enough at the end
-sadly, we are going to be listed as a bad loss when seeing Richmond's profile from now until selection Sunday.

A bit misleading as they have started 2 seniors for much of the season, both did not play lastnight however. I know Lindsey is injured, not sure what happened to the big guy....Walker I think?

We're still both transferring after this season right ::shake::
