Game 27: GMU (21-5 / 12-1) at vcu (21-5 / 11-2) on Saturday, February 22, at 4:00 PM.

I feel like this is the biggest game of Tony Skinn's time at George Mason so far

Agree?

The past week for sure. Dominating Rhody for HC after early season buzzer beater loss, a solid road OT win at SLU and yesterday's miracle in Fairfax.

We are exactly 1 win next Saturday @ vcu away from being an AP Top 25 team.

Next week is our bracket buster game. Biggest regular srason game since we played at Wichita State in 2006.

Gotta pray the refs don’t let vcu play prison rules like they usually do at home. I can see BOC and KD getting it stolen off them a lot of the refs let vcu get handsy.
We should have all our player walk onto the court and pull their pockets inside out to let it be known who owns the prison yard.

This vcu roster includes the most experienced, talented, skilled and deepest stape of guards in Rams history. They press at an elite level in the full court and the half court for 40 minutes but it's also their weakest front court in school history.

Mason has a week to solve the press...it can't take advantage of Haynes if the guards are turning it over...if Mason can get it past half court and run inside out offense..they have a chance...but its all about Mason's guards vs the vcu backcourt pressure.

Im most worried about BOC bc im not sure if he's seen this type of pressure in that redneck environment. KD is for sure fighting somebody and Im all in with him.

Remember, we played against Shaka Smart on the road earlier in the season, which is the 19tg ranked defense in the country and averages 1.3 spg more than vcu. They’ve seen this kind of pressure before.

Now the wheel blew off and we got rolled in the last 4 minutes at Marquette, but this team is better now than it was then. So who knows?

My take... this game cones down to our backcourt fortitude and our bench. I'm not too worried about the starting five. If Mason protects the ball and gets good production from the bench, keeping everyone as fresh as possible and making strong contributions across the board, then we have a great chance to pull off the BIG V (whereas, overcoming vcu on Saturday would be a victory, not just a W).
