The Rams shoot 44.8% from the floor (8th in the A10) and 33.5% from 3 (10th in the A10).
Opponents are shooting 39.4% from the field and 31.0% from 3.

The Rams shoot 73.4% from the free throw line (5th in the A10).

They have out rebounded opponents by 5.1 boards per game and average 11.6 turnovers per contest.

Thoughts: The last time we had a week long break we came out very flat offensively. We only scored 49 points in regulation and needed OT to pull out the win against Loyola Chicago. I hope that’s not the case again.

vcu is #1 in the A10 in turnover margin and by a large margin. On the other hand we are 15th in assist to turnover ratio. Therein lies one huge key to the game. Will we value and take care of the ball?

We have had pretty good success at Siegel Center with recent road wins in 2021, 2020, and 2018.

What’s the difference between a cactus and Siegel Center? A cactus has its pricks on the outside.

What do you say to a vcu player dressed in a suit? Will the defendant please rise.

Discuss.

Do you.all realize that in the 2nd covid year...Mason beat vcu with Bones and Ace...they had Kolek, Jordan Miller and Oduro.. but the Pats finished in close to last place..how does that happen with a lineup like that??

Hey, why not? We've won in the toughest A10 arenas this year, seem to shoot better on the road, and are battle tested in close games. Plus, vcu lost to two tough, physical teams that we beat on the road. We can get this one. I can't get to Richmond next weekend, but I hope a lot of you make it and get to see something special

My thoughts on vcu and their program are well documented. My .02 on their fans is even more documented and been quoted.

As @Petey Buckets once said, vcu is the monster under our beds as a fanbase and as a program. It goes back years. With few exceptions, somehow they’ve always knocked us off going back years. I’m sure Tony and Lamar are well aware.

I think our group is different though. We’ve already gone into several tough environments and won. We are resilient and hang tough when it matters most. Hopefully this will continue into next weeks matchup.

I see vcu has won all of it's conference home games by 12 points or more. (A lot more vs. Richmond & La Salle) Can't see that happening to GMU. However, it does underscore the difficulty of getting a win there and how huge a win it would be. It's been sweet seeing GMU get it done at home this year, but the ease with which vcu has done it is what concerns me.

At the same time, it's fun to even be thinking about the postseason implications of a February game at vcu again.

Paulsen was worthless! It’s not always about talent.

I wouldn’t put a dime on Mason to win this, with the blind deaf half dead refs mason has gotten in Fairfax the A10 has sent a pretty loud message. Do I think they can win? Sure 100% but I wouldn’t hold my breath either. I hope KD drives them so insane that it leads to multiple ejections on the Hipsters. The refs better come prepared for a fight because no matter what it’s going to get ugly and may be a blood bath. The encouraging part is that Mason isn’t the same soft team of last 15 years. They are tough as nails.

Yeah many folks expect this to be chippy. Kd and Phil Russell are going to have a fight I’m sure.

I think our guys will be ready and not intimidated by any stretch. If we can win at other a10 places why not at vcu?
