Other than possibly @gmujim92 nobody has crowned him anything lol. you are reaching like you usually do man.

and even then I think Jim has also called it like it is. Most of the sane posters here have called it like it is in the sense that theres been good bad and ugly at parts, but in general most of us think we are headed in the right direction considering what there is to work with. Most of us just don't start going crazy and get ready to jump off the nearest bridge because Mason has a bad loss or loses a buy game to a team that turned out to be really good.

However, on the same token, the Pro-Paulsen group needs to stop crowning DP the savior.

I did a quick search for "savior" on the boards.

Chank made one of his humorous poems/limericks that used the word when he was first hired in April 2015.

BravesFan called Thuc Phan our savior.

But I couldn't find one single example of anyone legitimately calling Paulsen the savior of the program. Not one.

You know what I did find though? 8 Separate occurrences of you saying he wasn't and/or accusing other posters of being homes are calling him that.

To paraphrase the Bard (that's Shakespeare and not you unable to properly spell the AD's name), "methinks the troll doth protest too much."

I think you are right in the fact the anti-Paulsen posters should take a step back and have more patience. However, on the same token, the Pro-Paulsen group needs to stop crowning DP the savior. Mason was a desperation 3 vs St Joes and an OT win vs UMass away from being tied for last in the conference. Not to mention Mason already lost to the worst team in the conference.

I think it’s fair to say fans should give DP a longer leash, but it’s also fair to be skeptical.

Oh great, now he's stealing my lines and using them out of context. :bricks:

Every team has a couple games they should have won, AND a couple of games they should have lost, so they balance each other out and your record is what it should be most of the time... we are no different. Just as you can't say we should be 8-5 in conference if we would have beaten Duquesne and Fordham, you also can't say we should be 4-9 because we were lucky to beat St Joes and UMass. You can't just use the one side to help strengthen an argument... very misleading.

What Gunnie is describing is called stacking the deck.

I just noticed Grayer only played 9 mins vs Dayton. Is foot still hurt?

Maybe, but he was also in foul trouble early in each half. Once the lead grew, there really wasn't a need to put him back in with 4 fouls.

many here believe Paulsen has the program on the right path and others seem to be eating crow
Yes. DP may/may not be “the savior” of the program. However, would anyone say the program needs saving right now? Most would at least say that they aren’t sure.

As time passes, I think the answer to that question looks more and more like a no. And if you once needed saving and no longer do, does that mean you have been saved?

People also need to consider when Paulsen came we were way behind in the facilities race because if Hewitt. We are catching up in that department now.

He picked up his fourth foul with about 8:00 to go in the second. At that point, we were already up by 21 I think. Boyd and Greene seemed to be doing just fine holding it down, so why risk fouling out at that point?

Agreed - we can't complain about the mascot, the lighting, sound system, scoreboards, LCD screens everywhere, etc. Practice facility too.

Baby steps :)
If you only knew... I have gone from hating just about anything to do with Mason to actually wearing Mason gear again. Not wearing Mason gear for a couple years was tough since that is half of my wardrobe. The last two winters were very cold since all of my casual jackets are Mason. At least I am a casual fan now.

So, it is much more than baby steps even if there is still a long way to go for me get back to being half the fan I used to be.

The way this winter has been going in DC, maybe the bookstore will be selling sweatshirts for half off just to get rid of them! That will increase your wardrobe a little bit. :)
