That 9 assists and 2 turnovers for Livingstons for a 4.5 to 1 assists to turnover ratio is really strong. However, only 2 assists from the rest of the team? And the 59% rate at the FT line?

What was that offense we ran second half where we got it to someone with their back to the basket at the free throw line? Good adjustment by Paulsen.

I think GW was in a 2-3 zone defense during that time right? Standard offense when going against a 2-3 zone. Mar did a great job in there. Helped a lot that we were making 3’s during that time.

Have we run it against the 2-3 this year though? Can’t remember seeing it.

Give Paulsen credit, he made some adjustments having a big come and screen Yuta at the beginning of every offensive set to give Otis some room. This team actually attacked a zone with purpose and was effective. Still couldn’t believe that no call on the play where Mar was shoved out of bounds near the end of the game to give the possession to GW, that was a huge call and we were lucky it didn’t end up costing us. For as athletic as AJ is, boy does he get blocked a lot! Really wish he would use the glass or learn a pump fake, still he gave us some big minutes today.

Now watching vcu give up a 1o+ point lead in the last minute and a half to Dayton to force OT.

Praying for triple OT to make Dayton tired

Every guy who played today contributed to the win and that is what they have to do with an 8-man roster.

Mar started the season 100 miles ahead of our other freshmen, but Greene, Calixte and Wilson have closed that gap significantly. All four are going to be very good players for us before they’re done. That’s one hell of a class for a coach who can’t recruit A-10 talent.

Kier and Grayer hit some huge 3s, which was nice to see because they took some of the scoring load off Otis.

I also want to give a shoutout to Boyd, who had a major impact on the game despite scoring only three points. He was an insane scorer in HS but has embraced a glue guy role at Mason and does a bunch of little things that don’t show up in box scores.

His unselfishness and willingness to do dirty work without having the ball in his hands is more important to our team than most fans realize.

On Boyd, if he never develops into a full-time starter, I'm fine with him being our sixth man going forward. He makes the kind of energy plays off the bench a good team always needs. And when he's on, he can fill up the scoring sheet, too. That and he can play multiple positions -- the 2, the 3, and as an emergency 4.

As for the overall gameplan, I think having Kier set screens for Otis insteand of Calixte was a fantastic adjustment over last game. That way, Bolden switched on Otis rather than Steeves being able to use his length to hold Otis up and allow Watanabe to recover. Also, great job by Otis to get everyone involved in the offense with 9 assists.

Boys - I got some crow to eat on Greene, and I couldn’t be happier to do so. I thought he would be the worst defensive player on the team and really struggle this year due to deficiencies on that side of the floor. Man do I love watching him jump passing lanes. Kid’s going to be a stud when he begins to consistently find his shot on the offensive side of the floor.

I thought Mar did a lot of good little things on defense that I hadn't noticed watching games on tv and on my phone. Greene, though, really impressed me. Really getting good at poking the ball loose. I was behind the play in which he knocked the ball out but got called for a foul... It was apparent to our entire section he got all ball. Not TOO many terrible calls tonight, tho. Just one really whistle happy ref.

I know AJ had a productive game but I'm still not sold on him at all. I think he sucks at this level, especially for a red shirt, and hope he makes an impressive sophomore jump. I'm very willing to be wrong on this!

Hard to understand this team. So much good, and So much bad. I really do think it's just youth, even though the haters don't want to see that as an excuse.

So nice to see a game live again. I miss being a season ticket holder. I feel like I see so much more looking at what I want to see instead of what the camera shows me. I also enjoy not hearing commentators telling me what to see and think. Glad I mead the trip, and only missed first 4 min.

THAT. WAS. AWESOME.

Could not be happier with the student turnout. When was the last time the West end was full like that?
