“Big” in the A10 is a very interchangeable term. But point taken. Again, not his fault. But the difference was rebounding.Yeah of course Calixte got bodied. Tillman is probably the best big in the A-10. If not him, Cunningham from Dayton.
Hopefully as our program matures we won’t have to rely on freshmen to play in the paint.
Coaching staff screwed up the roster. Trust the process my a**.
It wasn't close to that close and you know it because you had to go through the angst of having to watch that thorough smack down. When was the last time we only had 11 TOs against vcu and more steals (10 to 3 margin)? We were crushed on the boards, couldn't hit a 3 to save our lives and only lost by 8. Not thrilled by the results, but excited about the promise. Gotta believe in the process.
Number 66 recruiting class with top player in OH and number 2 in TX. Gonna suck to be a vcu fan.I think everyone is forgetting one thing with tickets.
Mason changed their policy this year where seats that are not bought by season ticket holders are fair game to the public. Tickets are $45, $25, and $15 now. The $45 seats are in the lower part of the arena where most of the season ticket holders are. If I were a vcu fan, and looked at the schedule the day it was released, realized this game falls on a Saturday, I would have bought tickets as soon as possible, to get good seats.
Without looking it up, I don't remember the last time vcu came to Fairfax on a Saturday. There were weeknight games where over 5,000 would show for vcu. Face it, they travel well, and when you hear their vcu chants off and on through the game, that says something.
It was sad that there were scoreboard problems in the early stages of the game. I would think this would have been a first game issue, not this deep into the season.
Regarding the game itself, you can't teach height, but Calixte being in foul trouble didn't help matters in terms of rebounding. There have been games this season where we have hit at least 8 three's, and had that happened today, we win.
This is what vcu has coming in for next year: http://verbalcommits.com/schools/vcu

Ahhh, come to Fairfax and it's like going to Philly. Fists are always ready to fly at fans that root for their teams in your stands. vcu fans don't start crap anywhere. They just travel well and I have never seen them get even the least bit out of hand...except for being louder than the home fans that is. Shame people can't come to watch a Saturday game with their friends and kids without being threatened with bodily harm by the natives...Agreed on this count. My son and I had 3 obnoxious vcu fans running their mouths two rows behind us and we were in 115 EE.
Way too many visiting fans sitting and being loud in season ticket sections today. Embarrassing by our “fans.”
They got quieter after I told one I was gonna go back there and put my fist in his eye, though.
Also if you don't have pmp on ignore that's on you. I don't know why people respond to him.

I am only going to say this: GMU's future is bright. Paulsen is a much better coach than Paul Hewitt. He is building the program the right way. Mason won 20 games last year, just stick with the team.
