My favorite UD comment, "I've seen the AG year by year schedule. Year 3 we should be competing for an NIT bid and by year 4 a top 3 seed in the NIT. Obviously the ultimate goal is to win another NIT championship but I'm trying to keep expectations in check."
not quite lol. would like a big that doesn't front rim every other layup he takes and one that can rebound the ball consistently. that would be a great start... Just not a fan of his defense... we made some timely double teams last night that prevented Obi and Cunningham to continue doing what they did at the beginning of the game (good on you Paulsen), but what I don't understand is where this wild theory that Reuter is a good defender came from because he is clearly NOT.Essentially what is happening is that sleeper prefers a super athletic big who throws down monster dunks and is refusing to see anything positive out of Reuter.
Kathy isn't going to give much on Reiter. But since she pays more than anyone, she can say what she wants.
This debate about whether or not Reuter is a good defender got me thinking: Hilary Swank - hot or not?
I'm not sure what your issue with Kathy is. I wish I had her type of money or even a tenth of it. You should seek counseling though. It is really unhealthy. Without her our student athletes would still be practicing on the blacktop courts out behind the RAC. I for one am very thankful for her and other donors contributions.Kathy isn't going to give much on Reiter. But since she pays more than anyone, she can say what she wants.

I would throw one in her.
Talk about a low bar to clear...
After Hewitt, it would be hard for me to ever trust a retread coach unless it’s Pitino. To me it looks like Reuter plays his best basketball later in games and normally comes out a little off - not sure why or if I'm just imaging it. He didn't seem to be closing off as well early vs Dayton as he did vs Fordham, but by the 2nd half it seemed better.
Our big guys going 4-4 from the line was huge.
To me, the story of the game was Dayton coming out with a great game plan, Paulsen adjusting, and Grant didn't have an answer. I didn't think Grant was a great X's and O's guy at vcu and built his resume on great recruiting and better talent. I was worried when Dayton grabbed him and thought that he probably improved, but it doesn't seem he has. I'll take Paulsen any day of the week over Grant... don't know if I would have said that a few years ago.
Not saying Paulsen is a god or anything, just that he's better than Grant.
You’ve got quite the hard-on for Pitino don’t you? Bad news for you, Rick Pitino is not walking through that door. After Hewitt, it would be hard for me to ever trust a retread coach unless it’s Pitino.

Haha. Nah Mason doesn’t need him until my next over reaction. You’ve got quite the hard-on for Pitino don’t you? Bad news for you, Rick Pitino is not walking through that door.
that is his D Rating per 100 possessions. Otis is 3 points higher than him... that can tell you the importance of that stat...Of interest:

Reuter's Drtg is 100.5, which is just about slam average, and right in the middle of the team, too. He may not be an elite defender, but I don't think he's awful, either

His offensive box score +- is -.7 which is really really bad... his defensive box score +- is .9
greg is 1.7 and AJ is 7.1 defensively..
Greg is 5.6 higher in DRB (big stat for a big man)
there are stats to prove any persons point.. just got to look a bit harder
I don’t think anyone can watch Reuter for a half and say he’s a good defender, but he was god awful to start the season and he has definitely improved in a few areas (hedging being one of them, moving his feet is another). He’s gone from god awful to passing in my book. He’s still going to get burned on recovery (because he can’t adjust on the fly), and a big who has an inside-out game will eat him alive. But he’s not the killer he was earlier.
And we have to be honest, our guards were not doing him any favors early in the season. Those players were allowed to get a head of steam toward the basket and there wasn’t a whole lot he could have done even if he was quicker.
