Thanks for sharing that gmubrian. Yes, coaches have to say stuff to prove they are all in on their current team. But still kinda irks. Oh well. Move on, the best way to get back at him is to win every/most games we play against them.
Absolutely. And last year we handed them one of their worst losses of the season at EBA. I'd love to see that again.

Is this the unofficial GW game thread? Want to make sure where to post the hard hitting insights.

Last year our AD handled it well and they plan to do so again this year. If I recall correctly, they handled it so well that their fans posted about being disappointed they weren’t able to take over the sidelines like they had a couple of years ago.

I was irritated when he said that, but, I have mostly gotten over it. I think that likely came out of not getting the Mason job previously and wanting to justify to GW fans why he felt GW was the choice for him. I haven’t spoken with him recently, but, back when he was at Mason on the OCM staff, he was by far the most welcoming and fun of the staff to hang out with. He was a great guy and I assume he still is.
screw him

1. Mason's status should be the least of Caputo's worries. He hasn't even finished half the court ordered therapy treatments for his cat porn addiction.

2. He is an opportunistic low life that would throw his mother under the bus if it served his career interests. Ask his mom, she hates him.

3. In Spanish, the last part of his name is a curse word "Puto". Not sure what point I'm making on this one, but it can't be good.

4. And don't even get me started on his alter ego "Christina Caputo" that only comes out every 3 full moons where he/she wanders the streets demanding gummy bears from strangers.

Once @Patriotsince81 puts up the official thread I most likely will merge these posts into that. Don't want to kill tradition/good mojo etc.
I had it done and was going to post last night but then saw Jesse's thread so I let it be. I didn't wan't to be the department of redundancy department.

I am at the GWU vs Duquesne game
GWU students have been offered a free bus ride, free game Tix and food for the Saturday game vs GMU.
They are trying to make it an away home game.
What are your thoughts on the Rafael Castro vs. Jalen Haynes matchup? I think this is a big key to the game.

IMO
Castro is a step quicker,
but Haynes is bulkier and bigger so has a slight edge underneath
and we have a second big as a back up

If I were GWU i would try to pull both bigs out and away from the basket and force GMU to switch and create a mismatch,
their second big - Hansen - is not afraid to shoot the 3 but seems rather skinny and can be out muscled

Haynes cannot continue to put the ball on the floor in the post, but must drive quickly before the rest of the defense can swarm at his knees or pull up with the short jumper and make it

The Dayton game was the first time I noticed Haynes taking a 10-12 ft jumpers in the lane. Happy with the result, for sure. Was that against a Flyer zone? I do remember someone saying that you attack a zone by getting the ball to a player in the middle of the lane.

More typically, Haynes does his best offensive work down low.

Thats correct. I was shocked to see it so smooth and easy but he was in the right spot of the zone and against a 2-3 you have a wide open look from the foul line or just below it.

When I play pickup, if I get the ball in that area against a zone I know that I have a chance to actually make a basket, heh.

Instead of hoping and praying for better 3pt shooting AND less TO's, maybe the realistic hope (and winning formula) should be for EITHER of those to happen. The insane hot shooting covered for the insane amount of TO's last night.

Unfortunately for us, Kenpom has GW 4th in the A10 in creating turnovers and 3d in 3 pt % defense.

Lol that's fine. We aren't shooting like that two games in a row anyways. Far more concerned with turnovers.
