GW stinks, but they own G Mas. Kind of like the Skin/Cowboy “rivalry”. Totally one-sided.

Mason beat themselves with turnovers in key opportunities. Not having Otis or Jaire score a lot also handcuffed them. All in all they battled back and made it closer but they are still fairly far away from what I thought was a statement game. Oh well, on to Duquesne and let’s hope they can improve for that game.

Ugh, don't think I gave a prediction, but the more I saw people getting hopeful for this game the more I felt a stinker coming on. And that was very smelly.

Forget and move on to Duquesne.

Silver lining - freshmen continue to show out - I believe the freshmen combined for 24 of the 29 1st half points, or something close to that. Like the aggressiveness I saw from Greene.

Paulsen got rings run around him on the whiteboard tonight. Sorry but you know Wantanabe is the go to guy. Zero excuse to give him open corner 3’s. Gotta go full Belichick and make them beat you with something other than their best weapon.

Kinda hard for that to be true since GW runs nothing resembling an offense. Watanabe and Zeigler are just a bad matchup for us when we’re playing 3-4 guards at all times.

If I have one complaint, other than the fact that we keep losing to these scrubs, it’s that we didn’t keep exploiting the mismatch with Kier on Steeves.

Kier scored easily every time he drove against Steeves, who is slow and had no chance to stay in front of him. We should’ve spread the floor and let Kier go 1 on 1 until GW adjusted.

Two bad lapses in this game: the first was the last 3:00 of the first half when we were down 3 and wound up down what was it 15? The second was between 8:00 and 4:00 left in the second. And what is annoying about those stretches is not that Mason had a hard time scoring, because that's going to happen, but that they allowed GW to run up the score on them in those moments and didn't clamp down on defense.

Our biggest problem this game was, one, points off turnovers...two, we had no one guarding the post and gave up some easy pick and rolls...and three, we left shooters wide open for some reason at times (like right after we cut it to 8 in the second half).
