So I'm not sold on his mid-range shot quite yet, but I will agree that he's probably the best passer on the team (he's thrown multiple great passes this season that the guy on the receiving end wasn't even expecting which has skewed his turnover numbers). He is softer than baby shit in the paint though and we need to find a way to start having him work to his strengths rather than Paulsen trying to force him to play down low. He has all the qualities you'd look for in a traditional stretch 4 minus him being about as unathletic as most of the posters on this board, I'd love to see him start posting up around the elbow so he can open up the driving lanes for Kier/Javon/Otis/ Miller? Really enjoy watching him play within his limits for once though.
My 9 year old to me a few games ago "Dad, that guy looks like one of your friends playing out on the court."
Me: "Huh?"
9 year old: "That white guy. He looks like he could be one of your friends playing basketball with you out on the driveway. The way he runs and plays is like that."
Pretty perceptive.

What a great win. The boys did a great job of stepping up at the end. I thought this game was gonna be a loss with what Mass was playing for and it being the end of our road trip.

That's cool, definitely sounds like more effort in the scheme/execution as well.

There’s much more effort all around, pretty much since early December they’ve rolled it out and perfected it. I think Reuter directing more and the passing lane jumping are big pieces. Plus the emergence of Kier and Greene.

Jordan Miller had a somewhat pedestrian game, typical for a true freshman. Should we start tearing him apart yet after raising him up to unreasonable expectations (i.e. Reuteruing him)? Or do we want to give it one more game first?

Not looking at you Team D-Bag; already know what your answer is.

7 Pts, 3 Reb, 1 assist, good defense in 29 minutes. Good effort for his 2nd game. His future appears bright.

He still produced more points than Mar would have from that spot, so no.

He has already had two games better than Reuter's best IMO and nobody claimed he would be All-A10. I was happy how he played last night...

So the entire Lawdog clan is racist like you?

Edit: (In case it doesn't come across and you don't know the history.... He is not really a racist and knows I'm joking)

Anybody have the link to the postgame presser for Matt McCall. I like to hear what the opposing coach says about our guys.

GIVING DAY 2023
Being able to win on the road with your C-plus game is the sign of a mature team and IMHO that is the most encouraging sign for this group going forward.

Unlike earlier in the season, our guys are no longer panicking when adversity hits. They just go to the next possession and keep playing.

I thought Dave took a perfectly timed second-half timeout for the second consecutive game. UMass was on a run, but we came out of the timeout with 7 straight points and never trailed again.

This 4-1 start doesn’t feel like a fluke. Even when we were down last night, I always had the sense our guys would grind it out and find a way to win. We haven’t had that consistently since Larranaga left.

...We haven’t had that consistently since Larranaga left.

It is funny that you say that. Just the other day I had almost the exact same thought. Under the OCM I always felt before every game that we were going to win. I didn’t think we would win every game of the year, but before each game I thought we would win that one. Hell I thought we would win that Duke game so much that I drove down with another crazy fan at the last minute after I was offered tickets. I also flew out to Omaha just watch us play Creighton (and to meet s_curl). Not uplifting examples since we lost both, but I was confident we were going to win before each of those.

Well, I am having that feeling again. Before each game I feel like we are going to win it. Good times are here again!
