As for the foul on Allen, I agree we were fortunate it was called; but if you look at the replay, the guy clearly fouled Allen while he was in the process of shooting.
Both fouls had the same level of credibility. Can't really complain about one without logically complaining about the other.

You want to talk serious problems going forward with this program behind the scenes? You have no further to look than there.

I knew it the day I heard her yelling not to pass the ball to Marco in Richmond last year. Unacceptable.

Jollay,

If you're serious, please tell us more about this situation.

If Ricky is a chick - I expect to see a posted photo of her so we can all pass judgement on her worthiness.

I'm going to talk in generalities, but you can figure out a lot just sitting near parents at road games. Can't say they are not nice, great people generally but...

Since the time of Hancock when parents complained Hancock was L's "pet" and he treated him differently than the others (as if Luke ever trashed a hotel room) a decent amount of parents have just not helped to create a team mentality. It has helped to create a culture where kids are never responsible for their own play/actions.

IMO Hewitt himself has sucked as a team builder, but I think some of these parents aren't helping. It contributed to the Arledge situation. It contributes to Holloway's situation. It is contributing to help make this group a bunch of individuals before a team.

I mean look at Ricky's "defense" of my comments. Oh, Marko, Pat and Jalen played well did they? Well, let's just absolve them of any blame for their play then while frying the rest.

I mean Patrick did great with his 3-10 shooting where he got two gift trips to the line to get 11 points. His defense was sterling as well, I'm sure.

He got 30 minutes and we still lost, Holloways. It's time for every kid and their parents on this team to just work toward getting better and stop making excuses.

F###ing tired of it. At first it was almost a comical distraction but it's clearly hurting the program.

I love Holloway, but he played like poo in the URI game.

I am conflicted on Hewitt because I agree with what some have written about our younger players being the only light in an otherwise dark season, but also see everything that we are complaining about mirroring what GT fans went through with him. Luckily the choice won't be ours and Mason will never do something dramatic because the people that run our Athletic Department are not that good at their jobs.

Moral of the story is that we'll have Hewitt next year, and a team that I'm actually interested in. I love Allen's heart, but this is the worst senior class I have seen since I've been a fan (00-01 season).

Jollay,

If I'm reading your related posts correctly: You believe that a poster on this board (let's call her screen name "ricky") is the mother of a player (let's call him "Patrick"). And, during the CAA tourney last season, "ricky" yelled to the Patriots not to pass the ball to another player (let's call him "Marko").

I'm assuming that you believe that "ricky" is more concerned about her son being the next Mason star player than the success of the team. But, is there any evidence that she has influenced her son to be more concerned about his own stats than the team's unity and success? Regardless, I don't expect "ricky" to be posting on this board again.

Coaches who blame their players are generally not very good coaches. Especially when it's done through the media.
He must have thought that it would make them sympathetic. If he was just trying to blame them, then it's a double-edged sword, because then he was the one calling plays in critical situations without checking if everyone was on the same page first.

There's no evidence of anything. But it goes way beyond what I heard at one game, way beyond one set of parents and one player, way beyond one poster, and the bottom line is that say what you want, L knew how to build a team that plays together, not as individuals.

This team is a bunch of individuals, with one now watching from the stands.

And that's what you need at the college level. We need a team builder. I don't care how highly they are recruited or how high they can jump or how long their arms are. Give me 10 guys who will bleed for eachother on the court every night and I will be happy.

As for the Holloway, Marko and Jalen statement...saying they played well, was not all I said. My point to you was all of these young men are trying to do their best. If I remember correctly, I was the one that ask the question what is good/right about this team because all you wonderful fans do (most of you) is bash them as well as the coach. This is an open forum....but if you are going to lie at least go up to Patrick's mom at a game and tell her how you feel. Instead of bashing her too!

I wouldn't tempt Jollay, because he probably would do it.

I think everyone on here want our players to succeed and most of us see the talent and the effort they put in every game. The issue is there are too many breakdowns at ill-advised times in the game and as a collective whole they can't seem to overcome them. Is it the players, the coaches, both? Something is fundamentally wrong somewhere. Either the coach is causing us to underachieve or the players aren't good enough. We can't sit here and be happy about a 7-11 record.

But I am posting. If a mother yells to a player (son or not) not to pass because it may be a bad pass or someone else may be open... how exactly is that a problem? How is that seen as wanting their son to be a star? Please explain?

What exactly is Holloway's situation? Are you saying Holloway is Coach Hewitt's pet?
Calling out Holloway's mother is not cool. Please introduce yourself to her and tell her to her face what you are posting on here.
