Embarassing that we had a double digit lead with around 5 mins to play and we almost blew it

The lead was 7 with 5:00 minutes to go, and had been hovering around 4 since about the 13:00 mark in the hafl.

So, yes, we had a 12 point lead in the second half, but that was at around 11:00 minute mark of the half, with a lot of basketball to play. So, I don't really qualify what happened last night as a collapse, but rather a team with some really good players clawing their way back into it against an inexperienced team.

Anyone else think the Myrtle Beach Player of the Game should be Otis?
His 25 points, 5 bourds and 3 assists, plus ZERO turnovers trump Kier's night, IMO, who had 7 turnovers.
Oh, and I think Otis made a shot at the end too....

Probably...10-13 shooting is pretty amazing from Otis.

But despite Kier's turnovers (some of which he was trying to make the amazing play -- like that long pass he tried to thread to Mar that got stolen), he had a pretty complete game himself (12 pts, 10 rbs, and 7 assists), and he had to guard Newkirk all game.

Boyd's 15 off the bench was huge, too.

Getting player of the game is only a positive. Which Kier needed so maybe that will help his confidence.

Kier's "brush screen" on St. Joe's Kindler -- after Kier made the pass -- gave Otis just enough room to get of the shot.

Reminiscent of Arcidiacono's brush screen on the UNC player just prior to Jenkin's game-winning three to win the NCAA championship.

I thought about posting the same thing this morning, but I went and watched the play again and saw Kier never got between Otis and his defender.

The play obviously was designed for Kier to set a brush screen after making the pass, but Otis had to take an extra dribble to create room to get the shot off.

That was a heavily contested 28-foot shot and he still swished it. Amazing.

Yep. I feel like, if asked, Otis would say Kier was the player of the game. Otis doesn't need he motivation. Glad Kier got it.
