"Coach Schmidt pointed out that MOORE may be the most improved player in the A10. That certainly would be the case in his rebounding where he is #1 in the conference. Quite a testament to him grabbing 10.6 rebs at just 6'2". I'm sure that Denzel & he know each other well since both played at St Thomas Moore."

This is a really interesting matchup. Looking through the indicators, the important offensive stats favor the Bonnies and the important defensive stats favor us:

ORtg: 114.7 SB, 107.4 GMU
DRtg: 106.4 SB, 97.9 GMU
TS%: 57.0% SB, 53.8% GMU
Opponent TS%: 55.1% SB, 50.4% GMU
FT/FGA: 31.8% SB, 27.7% GMU
Opponent FT/FGA: 28.0% SB, 19.2% GMU

A couple things that concern me: first is that the Bonnies are a very good rebounding team. 36.8% ORB rate (better than our 34%) and a 52.2% TRB rate, slightly below our 55.3% rate. We might get outrebounded for the third straight game. Second is the Bonnies 3 point shooting - 38.4% as a team, with Mobley and Adams both shooting over 40% on 7+ attempts per game. That's really impressive. Thing is, they are near the bottom of the NCAA in 3 point rate. This is the kind of game where inviting threes might hurt us.

Curious to see if we'll see the matchup zone again today. I'm wondering if Paulsen is only going to use it on an as-needed basis or if it's going to be something we throw out a few times per game. Either way, if we play tough defense and keep getting into the paint, this is a game we can definitely steal on the road.

The Bonnies are very good at offensive rebounding, but for whatever reason, they are pretty awful on the defensive glass, allowing an offensive rebound 33% of the time (292nd in the country). By contrast, Mason allows an OReb 25.1% of the time (30th).

12-18 from the free throw line for us, 6-8 for them. At least we are getting to the free throw line.
