We are 0-3 against Duke all-time. We lost at Duke 60-51 on January 19, 1981. We lost 90-79 on January 3, 1983. The most recent meeting was at Duke on December 9, 2006. We lost 69-53.

Duke is currently 8-2 on the season. They are 6-0 at home, 2-0 on the road, and 0-2 at neutral sites.

Schedule: https://goduke.com/sports/mens-basketball/schedule

Wins: Maine (96-62), Army (100-58), Wofford (86-35), #17 Arizona (69-55), Seattle (70-48), #2 Auburn (84-78), Louisville (76-65), Incarnate Word (72-46)
Losses: #19 Kentucky (77-72), #1 Kansas (75-72),

Probable Starters:
6’9” Cooper Flagg - 165.9 ppg & 9.0 reb - Freshman
6’7” Kon Knuppel - 12.2 ppg & 3.5 reb - Freshman
6’6” Tyrese Proctor - 11.7 ppg & 3.7 reb - Junior
6’5” Caleb Foster - 8.4 ppg - Sophomore
7’2” Khaman Maluach - 8.0 ppg & 4.7 reb - Freshman

Reserves averaging double figure minutes that have played in every game:
6’6” James Sion - 8.0 ppg & 4.2 reb - Grad Student
6’6” Mason Gillis - 3.3 ppg - Grad Student
6’9” Malik Brown - 3.1 ppg -Junior

Roster: https://goduke.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster

Team Stats:

Duke averages 79.9 points per game while giving up 59.9.

The Blue Devils shoot 46.3% from the floor and 35.2% from 3.
Opponents are shooting 36.2% from the field and 29.3% from 3.

The Blue Devils shoot 73.0% from the free throw line.

They have out rebounded opponents by 7.4 boards per game and average 10.5 turnovers per contest.

Stats: https://goduke.com/sports/mens-basketball/stats/2024-25

Thoughts: Given their size advantage it will be interesting to see who starts and how we match up. I’m assuming Woody matches up against Flagg. Do we go with Gio and Jalen as starters to deal with the bigs? I look at Darius as a key, he’s played at Cameron before and hopefully he’ll give the team some advice about how to handle the Crazies.

I’ve always been, and always will be, a Mason fan first. But, Duke is #2 in my book. I always liked and respected Coach K and Jon Scheyer has done a good job of following a true legend.

They have height, athleticism, skill, talent, and the ultimate in home court advantages. They average about 11 3’s made per game. The optimist in me says we play hard, compete and hang tough losing by 8-10 points. The pessimist in me says we get blown out from the start and lose by 50. The realist in me predicts a 15-20 point loss. We just don’t have enough threats offensively and defending the 3 will be very difficult.

Looking forward to the game and seeing how we stack up, especially after a 10 day break for exams. Go Mason!

I was living in the town of Wake Forest in 1981 and went to the game at Cameron. Absolutely no problem getting tickets in those days. I actually was pretty proud that we only lost by 9. (And if I may boast just a bit, my date was the girl that played Snow White at Disney World.)

Ya never know. The light bulb may come on and everything just might come together for us to shock the world.

We have some streaky shooters and two very serviceable bigs. If the planets all lineup this could be real fun game to watch.

The team will be better off for playing this game no matter what happens.
I do know… that light bulb won’t get bright enough.

Don’t get embarrassed.

Also, as someone who grew up Duke fan. Go to hell Carolina.

This is their weakest Duke Team since 2007. It doesn't have the height, skill or athleticism of even the most recent few years. Cooper flagg is good but still at times plays like the 17 years old that he is. The rest of the team was patched together thru the portal so they are still figuring it out.

Mason matches up well at every position. I give Mason a punchers chance of winning this ball game and think it will be a single digit loss.

We have a better chance of having @Patriotsince81 fart the fight song at center court because Keyshawn hall made the nba than Mason winning at Cameron indoor stadium.

I’m pretty sure Duke hasn’t lost a nonconf home game in ages, and if they have they probably have lost like 1 in 20 years.

It’s good for the program to play a game like this and good experience. But expect it to be a pounding.

As much as I would like to think differently, you're probably right.

You do realize that this team LED a nationally ranked Marquette team 37-36 in the state of Wisconsin after being down 13-0 to start the game?

Why don't you think We can come out with intensity?

We get more time to rest and prepare. Duke will be having it's 3rd game in 9 days.

I expect a strong effort and I think we have an excellent chance at winning.

A "pounding" will be disheartening IMO.

I think this will probably be a 15-20 point loss. I still think these types of games are good to prepare us for conference play. Play in a real tough atmosphere, play against true higher level competition. See who steps up and who folds. I think we will keep it close for a majority of the game but eventually shooting is going to catch up with us.

As a fan, I’m stoked. Getting to a game in Cameron was a bucket list item for me, so to do it with Mason playing is gravy. I’ll be down there for the game. If we win, I’m going streaking.

Kenpom has Duke first in Div 1 in defensive efficiency and 12th in offensive efficiency. #3 overall. I like your enthusiasm, but you might temper your expectations.
